"Tumbs up if your a roamantic soul!"

I’m always a sucker for a guy gets girl; struggles to keep girl kind of story. This plot has been done in movies at least three or four times in the recent past. If you are a romantic or like fairy tales set in good old USA then this novel is for you. Bybee does an excellent job in character development given the length and depth of the plot. By the end first hour of listening, you are wondering where the rub is going to come from – is it here, there, and from who. I like the pace and the grace the Tanya Evy brings to the performance of the characters. I recommend it, it is a pretty short listen - only five hours, you won’t be disappointed.

This is definitely a reread. I liked the characters and the narrator. The story was quick, romantic and had funny moments. Light reading when you need a quick escape.

"The shallow end of the pool"

This is definitely a summer beach read or a rainy-day listen. It's short, sweet and doesn't tax your brain. It's like being in the shallow end of a pool...enjoyable but with no real depth. Luckily I was in the mood for a light and fluffy romance.

    "Super Cute Romance"

This is a fun one! Total fairy tale, enjoyed the story and will listen again. The narrator was a bit mechanical sounding but that is all the bad I have to say about it. The story is on the shorter side, but honestly there is so often a bunch of unnecessary crap in books this one is more to the point, without all the extras. Good beginning of a fun series.

    "Cute & Entertaining!"

I enjoyed this fast paced audiobook. It fast-forwards events that in most longer books go into too much detail (I call filler words) and become boring, yet the crucial areas of the book are described in detail, making it interesting from start to finish.

I was happy to see less filler words used--most people can imagine an elopement to Nevada without having every detail spelled out for them, or flights to and from England on a private Jet, without every detail being drawn out.

Although the narrator did well, I think another narrator could have done better, especially during the sex scenes.

All in all, I would recommend "Wife By Wednesday" for someone wanting a light entertaining afternoon or evening.

If you could sum up Wife by Wednesday in three words, what would they be?

That if you give someone time the one you thought you could not love is the one that you fall for.

What did you like best about this story?

They talk to each other openly and truthfully

What about Tanya Eby’s performance did you like?

    How she change her voice

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    just like it

    Any additional comments?

looking for more work from Catherine Bybee that I can listen to

    "Light, Easy Listening Romance"

I like books narrated by Tanya Eby. I like Romances. And easy listening at night before bed. This one fit all those requirements. Not the best I've listened to, but pretty much kept my attention.

"Historical romance premise in contemporary setting"

Setting: California, England, and New York. Contemporary
    Genre: Romance
Well, I'm trying to review this on the merits of the story. The premise is one that's more common in regency romance: Filthy rich Duke must, because of stipulations in his father's will, marry by his birthday on Wednesday. It's Monday. He goes to a matchmaker, but decides to marry her instead of the candidates she provided. Sound familiar? Anyway... This author didn't come close to knowing how noble titles are passed. Yes, a personal fortune can be passed to someone other than the heir to the title, but entailed properties cannot. That entailed estate may be debt-ridden, but it still cannot pass into the hands of the next guy in line. Well, it can happen, but generally, dad has to declare his son a bastard, and dad isn't around to do that, being dead and all. Oh, I also have a problem with the afore-mentioned filthy richness. This Duke was so greedy he had to have it all? If he didn't get it, half was to go to charity, a quarter to be shared between his mom and sister, and the cousin to get a quarter. Needless to say, I found the whole execution of the premise simplistic and unreasonable, especially in a modern setting.
I have listened to, and enjoyed, many narrations by Tanya Eby, but this is not one of them. While this is a contemporary American romance, many of the characters are British, and Ms Eby does not do that accent well at all.
So, bottom line: Don't spend a credit for this. If a marriage of convenience trope in a contemporary setting intrigues you (and you can't find something that does it better), get this one on sale.
