Publisher's summary

The New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling novel that launches Bybee’s popular Weekday Brides series

A wife by Wednesday...a love for a lifetime

Blake Harrison

Rich, titled, and charming...and in need of a wife by Wednesday. Blake turns to Sam Elliot, who isn’t the businessman he expected. Instead, Blake is faced with Samantha Elliot, beautiful and feisty with a voice men call 1-900 numbers to hear.

Samantha Elliot

Owner of matchmaking firm Alliance and not on the marital menu...that is, until Blake offers her ten million dollars for a one-year contract. And there’s nothing indecent about this proposal. The money will really help with her family’s medical bills. All Samantha will need to do is keep her attraction to her new husband to herself and avoid his bed.

But Blake’s toe-curling kisses and sexy charm prove too difficult for Sam to resist. It was a marriage contract that planned for everything...except falling in love.

The shallow end of the pool

This is definitely a summer beach read or a rainy-day listen. It's short, sweet and doesn't tax your brain. It's like being in the shallow end of a pool...enjoyable but with no real depth. Luckily I was in the mood for a light and fluffy romance.

Tumbs up if your a roamantic soul!

I’m always a sucker for a guy gets girl; struggles to keep girl kind of story. This plot has been done in movies at least three or four times in the recent past. If you are a romantic or like fairy tales set in good old USA then this novel is for you. Bybee does an excellent job in character development given the length and depth of the plot. By the end first hour of listening, you are wondering where the rub is going to come from – is it here, there, and from who. I like the pace and the grace the Tanya Evy brings to the performance of the characters. I recommend it, it is a pretty short listen - only five hours, you won’t be disappointed.

Cute & Entertaining!

I enjoyed this fast paced audiobook. It fast-forwards events that in most longer books go into too much detail (I call filler words) and become boring, yet the crucial areas of the book are described in detail, making it interesting from start to finish.

I was happy to see less filler words used--most people can imagine an elopement to Nevada without having every detail spelled out for them, or flights to and from England on a private Jet, without every detail being drawn out.

Although the narrator did well, I think another narrator could have done better, especially during the sex scenes.

All in all, I would recommend "Wife By Wednesday" for someone wanting a light entertaining afternoon or evening.

Romantic love story

Purely romantic, sensual & heart warming story! I loved the story, the tenderness, the characters, tons of steamy sizzle & passion (without being vulgar or tasteless). A very classic, with a twist, love story ❤️

Light, Easy Listening Romance

I like books narrated by Tanya Eby. I like Romances. And easy listening at night before bed. This one fit all those requirements. Not the best I've listened to, but pretty much kept my attention.

Matchmaker's Heaven

While Samantha was trying to find a wife match for Blake, he was busy matching up with her. The is a light-hearted, feel good romance. There was instant attraction between Blake and Samantha so they quickly turned a marriage of convenience into a marriage for keeps. The story was made interesting by the people surrounding them that didn't want to see this marriage succeed. This is a quick and enjoyable listen. Good first book to a new series.

Tanya Eby is a very good narrator and this story suited her talents. She helped to make it an enjoyable listen.

Worth the reduced price I paid. I liked it enough to purchase the other books in the series.

This was a turnoff for me

The beginning seemed interesting, but I couldn't finish it. Like Alice, I'm very willing to believe the unbelievable when it comes to my reading pleasure. However, I found it disgusting that the excuse for a millionaire wanting a property and more millions included the argument that non-profits are all such slimy, untrustworthy organizations that it would be throwing good money away to allow them to inherit anything. I kept on reading, but the requisite misunderstanding between lovers and subsequent ending were so predictable that I stopped in boredom just when I should have felt unbearable tension and compassion.

Bride of convenience--dating service.

Where does Wife by Wednesday rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Enjoyable. Middle of list due more to genre over story quality.

What did you like best about this story?

Enjoyed watching their business relationship change

What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She did distinguish between the characters. As often with female narrators the male voice was a little off for me. I would have enjoyed a bit more English accent with his family.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If time allowed . Again, the lighter story line didn't make for such a need.

Any additional comments?

It was a fun story and a good listen. I would recommend it.

Narration of Sam's voice was OUTSTANDING!

I really loved this story. The twist on the matchmaker was great. This book had all the things I love in a story, A great story line from the start, a couple of little twists, the chemistry between Blake and Samantha was great. Lots of wonderful dialogue throughout the entire book. Wonderfully written sex scenes.

And as usual this author writes with such ease and the whole story flows so nicely and very easy to read.

As for the narrator, I have to say WOW. Samantha in the book is described to have a very sexy voice, 1-800 worthy, and I am here to tell you she sure did! Amazing narration by Tanya Eby. 10 stars for Samantha's voice alone!
