Publisher's summary

The New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling novel that launches Bybee’s popular Weekday Brides series

A wife by Wednesday...a love for a lifetime

Blake Harrison

Rich, titled, and charming...and in need of a wife by Wednesday. Blake turns to Sam Elliot, who isn’t the businessman he expected. Instead, Blake is faced with Samantha Elliot, beautiful and feisty with a voice men call 1-900 numbers to hear.

Samantha Elliot

Owner of matchmaking firm Alliance and not on the marital menu...that is, until Blake offers her ten million dollars for a one-year contract. And there’s nothing indecent about this proposal. The money will really help with her family’s medical bills. All Samantha will need to do is keep her attraction to her new husband to herself and avoid his bed.

But Blake’s toe-curling kisses and sexy charm prove too difficult for Sam to resist. It was a marriage contract that planned for everything...except falling in love.

Refreshing wonderful listen

Where does Wife by Wednesday rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the very top, I enjoyed this in so many ways for so many reason.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wife by Wednesday?

When Blake came home and found her in the bath having a war with the condoms.

What about Tanya Eby’s performance did you like?

I loved her voice, the characters that she brought to life. I enjoyed the moods she gave each one, the power she put behind each character you felt like you were there. I just could not put this down.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book I have read/listen to by this author it will not be the last. There was nothing I didn't like, the author gave a compelling story of power, needs, wants, pain, trust, honor as we are reminded that things are not always as they seem. I thought the author sent a powerful message along with a wonderful plot.

Two people come together in an arranged marriage so both can come out ahead. For Samantha she just wanted to be able to take care of her sisters needs. Samantha was a wonderful caring, loving, compassionate character. She looked out and helped so many, is it any wonder why everyone around her fell in love with her. She had lost so much in a short time no one can blame her for getting married for money when it was done for the love of her sister. She is a very strong stubborn women who believes on standing on her own, she lets her actions speak for her but gives so much of herself.

Blake is powerful but caring and will not give up the money for family reason. No he doesn't need it but his mother and sister do. He might be an alpha male but he is a compassionate one to those he loves. He is rich due to his hard work not what his father left him. He spent his life proving to his father he could stand on his own and make something of his self. His father isn't willing to let go not even in death, his father must have control.

One things leads to another and these two are in over their heads. Things were done and said that might tear them apart before they can work out how they really feel about each other. To many hands in the pot stirring up a mess of trouble for any good to come of this.

I thought this was a wonderful plot, the author gives you a page turner that you can't put down. The narrator brings that story to life in a way that keeps you hanging on to each word. The author gives the read mystery that you do not see coming, she puts just enough twists and turns to keep you interested and before you know it with the narrator you are done and left wanting more from both the author and the narrator. I enjoy a humorous read with meaning which I felt the author gave you. In my book this was more than a 5 star read. I would have liked to have known what happen to the people behind the scam and if anything happen to the firm in question. In no way does this take away from the story just something I would have liked to have known.

Sometimes when we try to out smart people it comes back to bite us as Samantha and Blake found out. I can relate to the characters in this book family should mean more than anything to us as these wonderful characters showed us. Yes they came out ahead if things go as planned but they never thought of their selves just of their families needs. I feel sure if I was in either ones of their shoes I very well would have done the same thing. To make sure your family is taken care of without hurting others I could see a lot of people following along in their shoes. I found this story to be very believable with wonderful caring characters. I will be checking out more books by this author and expect she will be added to my favorite author's list very soon.

Loved It!

This book was short and very sweet! The characters, their deeply rooted hurts that healed because of their love for each other and their romance was entertaining. A "feel-good" experience.

I do not understand the negative reviews! Loved It!

What a cute story..

Blake needs a wife by Wednesday..he hires a matchmaker who finds several acceptable women, but in the end, he wants the beautiful matchmaker. Sam has a lot on her plate and carries the burden of a tainted past. If she can land the Blake account, she’ll be set for years and can grow her business. What she didn’t expect is was to get the offer of a lifetime. Can she hold out long enough to be set for life or will she fall under his spell and lose everything?

This was an enjoyable story. Blake and Sam had great chemistry and while there were some small bumps in the road, their issues were solved relatively quickly. My only issue was that Blake is British, but American made..hardly an accent, it’s weird to have these British characters with a weird accent or any at all. That is more a narrator thing than anything.

I’ve had this book for a while and finally got around to listening. I wasn’t disappointed.

when life has it's own plans

This book was great for showing how not all things always go as planned,no matter how well you plan it.It gave a great example of how anything can come out of nothing, very romantic. <3

Good bones, but needs more work/words.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Book is listed as "unabridged" but it reads/listens as if it was abridged. There are so many places that seem to be skipped over that if there was more context it would be more interesting and draw you in more. Good bones, but needs more.

If you’ve listened to books by Catherine Bybee before, how does this one compare?

This is my first by Catherine Bybee.
