Publisher's summary

Smooth. Sexy. Irresistible.

Those qualities equal only one thing.

Big. Freaking. Trouble.

Brynne Calloway knows that anything that seems too good to be true usually is. Fenton Abbott and his cashmere voice, Adonis body, and a magnetism like no other clearly falls into that category. But what's life without a little risk?

It was supposed to be a rebound, an uncomplicated escape from reality. But nothing ever goes as planned. Fenton turns out to be so much more in ways Brynne never sees coming.

IT PULLED ME IN & NOTHING COULD DRAG ME AWAY

Fenton is a wealthy, drool-worthy 29 yr old hot Alpha hero who doesn't believe in love - even when he finds a phone, scrolls the pictures and becomes determined to track down its owner.... all in the hopes of becoming 'better acquainted' with the mesmerizing blonde in one particular picture. 23 yr old Brynne has had a hard time of it - her older brother's been taken hostage, she caught her now ex boyfriend cheating on her and she's lost her phone which had precious memories on it. But all that changes when a man, with a cashmere sexy voice, phones Presley (her BFF) to let them know that he has saved the day by finding her phone.

Fenton arranges a meeting to hand over the phone and both Presley and Brynne have fun speculateing about the mystery saviour.... but nothing could have prepared them for the charming, sexy and oh so edible Fenton. The chemistry between Fenton and Brynne sizzles, the mutual attraction is like a force field and the sexual tension is shocking.... and then he asks her out. Although Brynne's confidence, self-esteem and mood is low it's boosted by the mystery Adonis and his obvious interest in her so that, coupled with Presley's pushing, finds her stepping into a world of intrigue, pleasure, passion, sex, fun, turmoil, secrets, betrayal, heartbreak, joy.... and love. Because, despite everything, they have both found 'the one'... but staying together proves impossible.

I loved - loved - loved this listen.... from its flawed yet loving loveable characters, through its often humorous, touching and passionate storyline to its romantic Epilogue... I was there on the sidelines cheering them on through all their highs and lows. And my dogged perseverance was gifted with a sweet HEA which was nicely followed by a picturesque Epilogue. Apart from Chapter 1 and the Epilogue this enjoyable listen was told from Brynne's POV and brought to life by a good narrator.

Worth a credit? Fenton starts off by being a very busy multi-Cmpany business owner whose attraction to Brynne forces him to mix business with pleasure because he asks her to accompany him on a business trip to Las Vegas. But his focus is constantly being interrupted from sex and seduction to cryptic phone calls and secretive meetings... and then, with Brynne's innocent revelation, suddenly things between them grind to a stop. However, this is only the beginning for a couple whose destinies are linked together - but first Fate is going to muddy the waters.... and this makes for a very enjoyable, very addictive and very creditworthy listen. Yes it's predictable but, for me, it didn't detract from or spoil my enjoyment of this wonderful love story.

Hook, Line and Sinker!

My first Adriana Locke audio, and it was A W E S O M E! Locke is a talented author who knows how to write a captivating plot that hooks the listener/reader, reels them in and keeps them captivated until the very end. Both the plot and characters were well developed and had the perfect balance between chemistry, humor and suspense. I loved how Locke weaved the suspense throughout the story giving the listener a little bit at a time.

The characters were likeable, multilayered, and lively. I loved all Brynne's witty, sarcastic remarks, they were hilarious! Fenton was HOT!! He was also a cocky take charge alpha with a side of sweet and caring! Yes, he was a little overbearing in the beginning, but Brynne handle him perfectly and he quickly became swoon worthy!

The chemistry was off the charts! Even though Fenton and Brynne fall in love in a fairly short time, it felt more developed and natural. There's lots of flirting, sexy talk and steamy sex scenes.

Lia Langola did a fantastic job on the narration! I loved Wherever It Leads, and will listen to other audios by this author. A KU / Whispersync Gem! Well worth the time!

I absolutely loved this story!

What a great story! I loved, loved this book. Fenton and Brynne were wonderful characters and Adriana Locke managed to write a story that grabbed my attention since the very first second until the very last word! And I also want to say that Lia Langola does an extraordinary job. Adriana Locke described the sound of Fenton's voice as cashemere, the same could be said of Ms. Langola's. Her inflections, her pauses, her entonations were perfect. A real pleasure!

Wherever It Leads

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes.Wherever It Leads has the perfect balance of romance, humor, mystery. Its low on angst and delivers a perfect HEA.It has a swoon worth alpha male and a strong ,confident female lead.I love Adriana's writing.

What other book might you compare Wherever It Leads to and why?

Rock Chick series by Kristen Ashley. The Rock Chick series also has great writing, strong female characters, alpha hero that is dominant but with a sweet heart.I loved Brynne and Presley's relationship.I love reading about women supporting one another, and Presley was exactly what Brynne needed. As Brynne's BFF, Presley knew how to nudge Brynne in the right direction and convince her to give Fenton a chance. It wasn't supposed to be serious (it never is) but it developed to a beautiful love story.Another great thing about the book is the connection between Brynne and her parents and brother.I love when an author builds a story based on a characters relationships , the good and the bad. None of them were perfect, but they were united in their love and support of one another.

What does Lia Langola bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Lia did a fantastic job narrating all the different characters. She also did great in switching modes :between sadness, hurt, passion, heartache etc.Brynne experienced them all in WIL and Lia narrated her and the rest of the cast perfectly.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES. I didn't want to stop listening. Adriana wrote an engaging book that was hard to stop listening /reading until the end.

Any additional comments?

A great book that shows us the power of love: Brynne's love for her brother, her belief that he will come back safe.Presley's support of her best friend.Fenton's love for Brynne that made him sacrifice himself and do everything in his power to help her brother.Wherever It Leads is a book that leaves you well satisfied.Highly recommended.

Awesome Story

When Bree loses her phone and a handsome stranger picks it up, she doesn't expect it to be anything more. She's still recovering from her break-up with her cheating ex-boyfriend and there is no news about what happened to her older brother, who was kidnapped by terrorists in Africa. In an impulsive decision, she agrees to go on a vacation with Fenton to get to know him better. He's not like anything she expected, but she's not looking for love and neither does he.

When I first went into this audiobook, I thought this would be the fun and sexy kind of story. The cover gave me the impression that it would be a light read where the two characters meet and fall in love unexpectedly, but it was much more. I did find the beginning a little slow, but I found myself more and more invested as I went through the story. It was mostly told in the heroine's point of view, with one chapter at the beginning and one at the end in Fenton's head.

There were moments that made me silently laugh. The interactions between Fenton and Bree were amusing and often very hot. They hit it off from the beginning and they have a connection that becomes obvious early on. The friendship between her and her best friend was awesome. Some of the things Presley said were completely hilarious and she was really supportive from the start.

It was great how there was a mystery surrounding Fenton that we only discover later on. I did want to know his thoughts, but I liked Bree's journey into getting to know him better. I enjoyed the plot surrounding Bree's brother and his best friend. It was always hinted that there was more to the story behind it and it was well-delivered.

The narrator did a good job in portraying the characters, especially the female lead, and it made the story more entertaining.

Cashmere, sexy and hot wonderful listen

Any additional comments?

Brynne is a mess working on getting over a cheating ex just her luck she lost her phone which has her whole life on it. Everything starts when she found her ex cheating after his return from overseas. He acts weird and has changed she could forgive just about anything but his cheating. When he talks her brother who is a doctor to go help in Africa he comes up missing and her ex comes home. When she loses her phone it is the last straw she falls apart everything was on that phone her last words with her brother, everything she holds dear. When a call comes in that her phone has been found her best friend send her on her way to meet up with the man with the sexy cashmere voice. On meeting sparks fly with attraction at the highest. Fenton isn’t about to let her walk out of his life. They agree to have a one weekend stand both getting what they want and walk away. Things are not always cut and dry when the heart is in the mix. Everything is going great until one phone changes their world leaving them both in a tailspin.

Ms. Langola has a wonderful and very talented voice giving you a listen you get lost in. There are no background noises or any place where the volume is higher or lower in places. If a break was taken you can’t tell. Her character voices are wonderful you can get lost in her Fenton voice is it so sexy smooth and does sound cashmere. You have no trouble knowing who is talking or what they are feeling. She really does put a lot of emotion in to her voice. The only area I could see that could use some improvement is when the character yawns she does not nor when the character whispers she does not it would be more believable if she did. That is not saying she does a bad job but just needs a little more to it. I really thought the narrator did a wonderful job and really pulled me in making me see the pictures in my mind that her voice gave. She really has a smooth and at time soft voice which makes you believe what she is telling you. You have no doubt that Bryann heart is breaking and that she loves her brother very much. There is no doubt that Fenton is in turmoil with mixed emotions. I loved her voice and look forward to getting lost in it again.

Fenton was very alpha maybe a little to alpha and over the top for a one weekend stand. He is very cocky and demanding for having just met her. He knows what he wants and goes after it. I liked him at first and then not but he became a very likeable character still at time very controlling for a booty call. You just can’t get a handle on him until it all comes clear later on. His life is busy with so much to keep running he just doesn’t have time for a girlfriend. After a few passionate filled nights he is hook and can’t walk away. When plans to hook up from time to time change it tilts their world like nothing ever has. Can he walk away from Brynne and all her pain or will he get right in the middle of it?

Brynne goes for the rebound only to find her heart is very much in it with toe curling nights she doesn’t want to walk away from the thrill or the passion Fenton gives her. A phone call from his business and one from her mother turns her world inside out leaving her feeling alone. She knows her life is a mess and she shouldn’t mix Fenton up in it but it is just so dang hard to walk away from perfection. When he cuts her off with I will be busy and can’t see you for awhile she knows he is walking out of her life. She takes it on the chin but not everything is as it seems which leaves her world spinning.

Brynne ex is a real piece of work and acts like a child it is hard to believe he has enough sense to even work the job he has. A BIG LOSSER he is and she is better off without him. She knows he had something to do with her brother coming up missing something is off she just can’t put her finger on it. I really liked her best friend she kept the story interesting with her witty ways. Her family is strong and stands together. Brynne was very likeable but under so much stress she can’t always see what is before her eyes. Fenton is something else and in a lot of ways very controlling. Both are fun loving characters that love to bait the other which keeps you smiling. At times this was a very humorous read and at other times a touching. I thought at times Fenton was a little much but he is a very loveable character that will steal your heart.

I really enjoyed the listen it was a hard book to put down. The author gives you a wonderful story that you get lost in. You can see the writing on the wall but she doesn’t give you enough to piece it together leaving you second guessing what you think is true. This story moves pretty fast keeping you on the edge hoping for the best but expecting the worse. It was well written with likeable characters that you cheer for. There are some really HOT scenes that you will get lost in. The emotion is high but the passion is higher. When you close the last page you will have a BIG smile on your face closing your eyes to let it all sink in with a feeling of peace after a bad storm. I think most will totally enjoy not only the book but this audio.

This was an ok audiobook It is really predictable, but it was a pretty light and sexy read. I had annoyances with both the h and H, but nothing major to where I feel the need to rant....overall it was enjoyable to listen to.

Just get on with it!

Such a long winded story for such a short time period.Talk about modern day hero coming to the rescue, what are the odds that you leave your phone in with the produce and at the end of the day,be swept off by a very rich, gorgeous hunk.NONE!Not in reality, but this is why this is a story and not reality. An escape for your imagination.Overall, good story, plenty of steamy scenes,a nice everybody lives happily ever after book.A bit long winded though, repetitive.

Fun and sassy!

This is the story of Brynne, a fun and sassy girl who's holding on to life and not letting her family troubles take away her joy. And Fenton, a guy who's all business and no play.
Brynne teaches Fenton how to have fun and let go a little. Fenton helps Brynne forget her heartache.
I enjoyed the narration, the voices were natural and clear and very distinctive between the characters.
