Publisher's summary

Music journalist Tru Bennett has done the impossible: capture the heart of rock star bad boy Jake Wethers. Now they're busy planning a wedding and navigating their new life together in the U.S. Of course Tru misses London and her best friend, Simone, but living happily ever after with Jake in L.A. is going to be great... right? Wrong.

Even the bright California sun can't whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake's wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn't want kids, which just may be a deal breaker. Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they've fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough?

Enjoyed the second part to the Jake & Tru's story!

"Wethering the Storm" is the sequel to Samantha Towle's successful "The Mighty Storm" and continues the love story of music journalist Tru Bennett and rock star Jake Wethers.  Jake and Tru are back together, happily engaged, Jake is drug free, and ready to start the rest of their lives together. This second installment made me fall deeper in love w/Jake the sexy rock star. His love is so Tru! When their lives are changed forever we see the raw, real gut wrenching love that Jake & his Tru have for each other. In The Mighty Storm, Jake fought for Tru, he fought for the life he wanted with her and here, in Wethering the Storm, he fights to make that dream come true for both of them. Even the sex is hotter in this book! With every struggle, every obstacle, every test, Jake proved time and time again that Tru was his life and he was not willing to let anyone or anything stand in the way of making her completely happy. His words and his actions were so genuine. There was not a single moment where Jake did not show that he was a man who loved his girl with all of his heart. This was a beautiful ending to the love story of Tru and Jake, twists and turns - Samantha Towle did a great job -

Jake is (tear drop) ..... NO WORDS!

Ok... you know you have just listened to a 5-star when the following 4 things happen....

1. By chapter 2, if you already getting that tingly feeling, and you just know it's gonna be an all nighter, b/c you keep checking to see how many chapters are left... and get super excited b/c your just at chapter 2... (so much to look forward to)

2. When the smex scenes feel so real, you get all sweaty just listening to it...

3. When you enjoy the background story so much, you feel like you are watching a t.v. program of "Tru Life: Jake Wethers!"

And the most important...

4. When you get the last chapters... and it is so emotionally... your heart is beating so fast... you have to stop listening... take a (cry) break... then restart listening... and you have to pause again...b/c you are just as an emotional wreak as the characters... and you just don't want to hear the end...but you have know...b/c... WOW... you just gotta know what happens....

I was up and down with this book.. I waited and waited for this to come out... and BOY it did not disappoint! Jake Wethers has just been put into romance book history as ROCK GOD, BAD BOY HOTNESS...

I was so scared about the drugs, smex and totally lifestyle of Jake... I was so nervous for Tru and Jake... and man... I am so proud of Jake...

I swear it was like watching the tru life story of Jake (F...ing) Wethers! I loved it.... best conclusion to Tru and Jake... and (JJ) !

Narration was superb! Perfect in fact...

Yes.. a totally credit, buy and sale... Whatever... JUST GET THIS! (and book 1 too)

JUST MAGIC.... PURE MAGIC

Phew, what an intense outstanding listen this was as Jake and Tru 's difficult relationship continues it's roller coaster emotional journey and you can't help but totally fall in love with Jake and sympathise with Tru's insecurities. But despite everything life throws at them, they hold on to each other and are determined to beat everything for the sake of true love and you, the listener, become captured hour by hour as their story slowly deliciously unfolds.

I heard and held every single word in reverence as their intense love story resumes and it takes the listener on such highs and lows as Chapter after Chapter unfolds to reveal the joy, sorrow, sexual pleasures, anger, humor, passion, love, heartache, shock and sheer desperation as their tumultuous love affair is tested over and over again. Then the couple endure the ultimate crushing impact and will their relationship finally be tested far beyond it's limits or can true love, at last, save the day.

Samantha Towle effortless weaves the plot and characters together to produce a magical romantic listen that will be very hard to forget and Justine Eyre's narration breathes life, feelings and depth into each and every character so together they will make you smile, laugh, sigh, cry and want to fly with the sheer joy of it.

I wish I had listened to book 1 again and then gone straight into this for the ultimate experience however I didn't but if you haven't already downloaded book 1 then I suggest you do that. Not a stand alone listen.

Worth a credit? It's well worth a credit - even 2 (but shhh don't tell Audible), a great addition to My Library and a definite re listen at some point.

Good sequel, happy ending for Tru and Jack.

Any additional comments?

A great happy ending for Tru and Jack. I am surprise how immature Tru acted in the book. I found her unlikable and annoying at times. Her lack of trust and insecurity of Jack was distracting b/c I found myself getting very angry and annoy. Jack was great. He was the mature, loving, and responsible one in this book. I love the supporting characters and the band members were awesome. If you read The Mighty Storm, this sequel is a must read.

Decent follow up.

If you could sum up Wethering the Storm in three words, what would they be?

Good wrap up.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Anytime Jake tells Tru "I love you so fuckin' much"

Any additional comments?

While I appreciate how hard it is to do an unfamiliar accent. The narrators rendition of Jake turned me off so bad I almost stopped listening. SO nasally and whiny. Not the voice of a hot leading man.

Just Get It!

Every issue that I had with the first book in the series, disappears in this one. Jake and Tru are two of the most memorable characters I've read about in the last several years. You will laugh and cry and sigh with satisfaction when the book ends; then want to do it all over again. This will definitely be on my repeat listen list, in the future. ST's writing is impressive and Eyre brings the characters to life in a way that moves it beyond just reading into the realm of true performance. She enhances the overall experience.

Just get it and listen. You won't be sorry!

Better than the first book in the series

Much better than the first book (The Mighty Storm) in the series. Tru is still frustrating indecisive and changes thoughts and opinions on a dime. There is still lots of steamy sex. Jake is still a bad boy rocker, but he totally redeems himself in the end. The book summary makes a big deal about Jake not wanting kids and it being a potential deal breaker, but that issue resolves rather quickly. By 75% in things were going so well that I knew something bad was coming because there was too much book left. And boy was it bad! But, don't fret, there is a very happy ending! Jake turns out to be a true romantic and a wonderful father! I listened to this book while exercising and it provided a pleasant diversion.

WOW.......

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this book. The sex; the comedy; the hearbreak; the love these two have for each other is amazing. They have overcome so much to be together and it was almost ripped away. But there love is unbreakable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Both Tru and Jake. The first book took me for a ride but this book just... wow.. It was both breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. Excellent follow up. The supporting characters are a scream...

What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She's a little nasal but she does a great job. I'm a fan of hers. So I've always liked her as a narrator. On this book however she really brought it to life for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The hospital scene ripped out my heart and put it back together. I cried!

Any additional comments?

This book is worth a credit or credit card. Sex scenes are awesome too but all in all a really good book. ..
