Publisher's Summary

Sophie Dempsey wants to help her sister film a video and then get out of Temptation, Ohio. Mayor Phin Tucker wants to play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. But when Sophie and Phin meet, they both get more than they want. Gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, vehicular abuse of a corpse, and slightly perverse but excellent sex: all hell breaks loose in Temptation as Sophie and Phin fall deeper and deeper in trouble, and in love.

    "Very Disappointed"
Would you try another book from Jennifer Crusie and/or Aasne Vigesaa?

    Absolutely not!

What do you think your next listen will be?

If I am in the mood for a good detective story I will look for a Henry Mankell book.

How could the performance have been better?

The voice of the reader was very irritating sometimes.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment - it was very immature both in the style of writing and content.

    Any additional comments?

After the first fifteen minutes I couldn't continue to listen, the characters had no depth, and the dialogue was very amateurish.

    Story
    "Small town secrets"
Where does Welcome to Temptation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was a good read but a little drawn out. It had mystery and love but, it had too many side stories going on.

What other book might you compare Welcome to Temptation to and why?

The Witness and a combination of The Husband Trap - unexpected love for those not looking for it. Murder and men who want to do the right thing. But yet very different books. With the husband trap, siblings with selfish motives and no desire to feel responsible for what they do.

Did Aasne Vigesaa do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Did ok.....but Aimee sounded more like a man

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions. I did get upset with the younger sister Aimee for the guilt-trips she keep placing on her sister.

    "Silly Story... Irritating Narrator"

The story is silly, riddled with plot holes and hard to fathom.
How are Sophie and Amy connected to Clea? Almost sister-in-laws?
Is Clea paying them for the audition tape/documentary/movie making?
Why is Clea making her own audition tape?
Why is Sophie fixing up the farm house for Clea?
What does that have to do with making a quick audition tape?
Why is the town fixated on the possibility the audition tape/movie/documentary might have porn?
Why is Phin such an asshole?
Why does Sophie even like him?
    Why does he like her?
Why did I pick this book to listen to?

Either I'm stupid and a poor listener or this book isn't well-written.

I also didn't like the narrator at all. She reads too fast and didn't create enough distinction between how she read Sophie and Phin's dialogue making them almost seem to be the same person.

    "Horrible"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Horrible. The story started off okay, but quickly went into a bad soft porn book. I quit after about half way. Disappointing.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Aasne Vigesaa?

The narrator was fine. The story was lackng.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

"Surprisingly good story but not erotic"
Where does Welcome to Temptation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A good romance with some fun characters. I particularly liked the banter between the main character & her man. Sadly disappointing if you bought it because it was in the erotic section. Still a good listen.

"NOT A REVIEW OF THE BOOK, WHICH IS GREAT FUN"

Is anyone else getting the Beijing Conspiracy as part two??? I've bought it twice and called customer service and they said they'd look into it. But I'm an audible addict and am bummed.

    "KILL ME ALREADY!!!!!"
What would have made Welcome to Temptation better?

Stuff it in the Dumpster and forget about it!

Has Welcome to Temptation turned you off from other books in this genre?

There is no genre............A documentary is more riveting than this book was...............well as far as I got with it anyhow

Would you be willing to try another one of Aasne Vigesaa’s performances?

Oh hell no!!!! She sounded like she was reciting the Flavors of Sundaes.......where Chocolate through Blueberry just all meld together. I truly thought she would drop dead.........I had hoped so at anyrate.........She hardly came up for air, and read so dam fast that you just could not Keep up!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes.........When I clicked to OFF button on my MP3 Player

    Any additional comments?

The story could have been good, maybe, but with the Narration I will never know. I just can not subject myself to this torture. 5 hrs was way enough!
