Pushed into working on the town's much-loved annual Christmas festival, Jeanette teams up with the sexy new town manager. Tom McDonald may be the only person in Serenity who's less enthused about family and the holidays than she is. But with tree decorations going up on the town square and a bit of romance in the air, Jeanette and Tom take a fresh look at the past and a hopeful look into the future. Together they discover that this just may be a season of miracles after all.

I simply could not finish this book. I really tried, but the narrator ruined the book for me. Her tone and Southern accent were just too hard to cope with. I read all three books before this one and am reading number 5 now, but this one was simply awful. I never quit reading a book part way through, but this is one that I did. Sherryl Woods, please NEVER use this narrator again.
Yes because it advanced the sweet magnolia's story but the female lead was bi-polar so most of the story was not enjoyable
Yes because I loved the other sweet magnolia's and their stories.
Whiny, annoying and irritating
Janette seemed sweet, intelligent and strong in her brief interactions in the first three books. She was all over the place in this book. She was bitchy to her boss, bitchy to a guy that she had just met and was supposed to be attracted to and then she had the nerve to be jealous of him after letting him know that she wasn't interested. And he did come on totally too strong but some of that was because she would flirt with him and then push him away and no one understood why most of the time, least of all him. At one point, I wanted him to just give Mary Vaughn a try rather than keep putting up with her irrational behavior!
The story was good but I had a hard time making it through the book due to the narrator.. She was horrible.
She was not consistant with the voices. It was really bad
Having a better narrator. Number one: Ms. Anderson is very hard to listen to plus (2) she's there's no consistency with the voices.
Say something about yourself!
I love the ongoing characters.
Additions to all the characters lives
Would rather not. The accents set my teeth on edge. Where on earth does Toms accent come from? Sounds like a bit of a Maine accent when he is supposed to be from the Carolinas
A "family" by choice with a happy ending
I loved the way she tried to always stand her ground, but then somehow she always gave in.
Why don't they stick to the same narrators when they do a series??? I can't keep track of the story because the narrator's voice is annoying me so much. She doesn't keep the voices she does straight. I'm so dissappointed.
I love the Steel Magnolia series, but can't stand listening to this narrator. I thought at first, Suzy Myers would be okay to listen to, but three chapters into it, I want to scream!
