For once, Joanne Walker's not out to save the world. She's come to terms with the host of shamanic powers she's been given, her job as a police detective has been relatively calm, and she's got a love life for the first time in memory. Not bad for a woman who started out the year mostly dead.
But it's Halloween, and the undead have just crashed Joanne's party.
Now, with her mentor Coyote still missing, she has to figure out how to break the spell that has let the ghosts, zombies and even the Wild Hunt come back. Unfortunately, there's no shamanic handbook explaining how to deal with the walking dead. And if they have anything to say about it - which they do - no one's getting out of there alive.

A good continuation of Jo's story. She's learning to embrace more of who she is. And Gabra Zackman's narration is wonderful as always.
I do recommend reading the series in order.
I love to read, but I am time-limited. Audible allows me to keep up with all my favorite authors while on the hiking trail. Thanks, Audible!
This was another excellent book. I love Joanie's inner voice. I wish all of Murphy's writings were available on audible.com. Murphy, Ilona Andrews, Karen Chance, and Maria Snyder are my favorite authors. Please get all of their writings on audible.com. As always, Gabra Zackman is wonderful.
Very picky when it comes to narrators.
I started listening to this series with Book 1, when the narrator was Christine Carroll and really liked it. It's unfortunate that Audible or the publisher made the decision to use Gabra Zachman for all the subsequent books. Her style is really irritating, and I have sadly made the decision that I will be reading any additional books on my iPad rather than have to sit through her Valley Girl renditions. Maybe if I just read the books I will start to like the characters again, because honestly, it took me months to listen to this installment. The narration was so uninspiring and irritating that I just didn't care.
I nominate Ms. Zachman for the Raspberry Award as one of the most irritating narrators on Audible.
This is one of my all time favorite series. Joanna Walker is such a kick ass heroine. Lots of philosophy, but also, lots of 'what the hell' lets go for it. Great cast of characters. Well written, unique perspective on urban fantasy.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
I thought the captain and JoAnne would have more dialogue. Waste of my money a second time.
If you are a fan Ok. This author sucked me in again on the review. Never again. Way too slow and too many adjectives that do not add to the story line.
Ms Zackman is a great reader, but she can only make a good story great. She can not make a bad story good.
Way to wordy. Author needs a new editor at publisher. Decent story line, with good humor when author does not dwell on descriptions that do not add to the story.
I am done with this author
Absolutely the worst book ever written i wasted $13 on this book the Narrator's voice could shatter glass
Absolutely the worst book ever written
