A bond as endless as time. Their forbidden union sealed in blood.
As the Alpha of New York, Trey placed the needs of his pack above everything - until the mate he's waited centuries for waltzed into his life and gave him a taste of what he'd been missing. Sadie, seductive, beautiful, and utterly captivating, is also something shifters avoid at all costs - a vampire. Stunned to learn of her nature, Trey turned his back on the only woman who could complete him.
Now, realizing he's thrown away the one thing he can't live without, Trey hunts Sadie down and defies tradition. Their sexual hunger is undeniable, with each sizzling encounter bringing them closer together. Sadie tries to resist but he refuses to allow it, using desire and her need for his blood to keep her close. With danger closing in, it's necessary to announce his mating before the pack. To keep his female, he's willing to lose everything he's ever known.

Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Sadie is a vampire who never knew why vampires could not feed of shape shifters until she meets her mate and fed from him realizing that now she could not feed off anyone else. Therefore, she searched for him until she was virtually starving and practically dead. Sadie then has to reevaluate her life and her choices...
Trey is the Alpha of the New York pack and has waited centuries for his mate only to lose her. When he stumbles across her, again he will move heaven and earth to get his pack to accept her. Trey comes across as a hot and sexy alpha who is head over heels in love with his mate..
The chemistry between Trey and Sadie is blistering. The sex scenes were hot and steamy and i sooo enjoyed this book. This is the 3rd book in this series and i am eagerly looking forward to the 4th. :)
The first two books were pretty good and you could "like" the characters. In this book they are constantly and I do mean constantly, rude, hostile and fowl. They are supposed to be a pack but they curse each other out every time they speak. For instance telling each other to "shut the f*** up", "I'll kick your f****** a**!" is a regular part of every conversation. I'm by no means a prude and have been known to let the f bomb fly on occasion but it seem like the author has gone out of her way to quote the fowlest sayings possible. Some language is necessary in the story but this is ridiculous. Even the woman are brash and rude, telling the males to "balls up". I just can't like these characters and don't really care what happens to them. I'm about 3/4 into the story and I am done. The only thing that I really like about this story is the narrator, she does a terrific job.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
This was a very good story and a good addition to the series. Trey has been a combination of a good guy and a jerk in previous books so I wasn't sure what to expect out of him in this book. Thankfully, Trey was a pretty good hero and Sadie was a good match for him.
Sadie is a vampire and a very skilled fighter. She’s the strength of her coven and protects them from physical threats. Sadie discovered that Trey was her mate a while ago (since book #1) but since he showed signs of having the shifters typical revulsion to vampires, Sadie has learned to stay away from him. Sadie used to watch Trey while shielded from sight because she couldn't seem to stay away from him; however, the last time they spoke, Trey pushed Sadie away and showed disgust at having a vampire as a mate, causing Sadie to swear never to come back.
Trey is a wolf shifter and the Alpha of the wolf pack. He had been without a mate for a long time and wished he could find her. When he first saw Sadie, he thought she was his mate but then he realized she was a vampire and figured he must have been wrong. However, since then, Trey has been experiencing phantom touches and calming feelings that have helped him during difficult times. Trey is drunk when he sees Sadie next and realizes his mate is actually a vampire. He ends up chasing her off with his disgust but as soon as she’s gone, Trey sobers up and realizes just how bad of a mistake he just made. He wants to talk to Sadie but doesn't know how to find her.
Although she hasn't talked to Trey since his drunken night, Sadie did end up feeling him in trouble (in book #2) and saved him. Sadie got hurt during the rescue though and ended up having to drink from Trey (or they’d both die) but that’s a problem for Sadie because once a vampire drinks from a shifter, they aren't able to drink from any other source. When this book begins, Sadie is weakened by not having fed for the last 2 months. Sadie is the protector of her coven and is currently tracking a rogue vampire, Alden, but because of her weakness, Sadie’s discovered and Alden captures her. Trey knows that Sadie saved him a couple months ago but didn't realize she fed on him and doesn't know that she’s now starving without him. A while after Sadie is captured, Lee (her friend and another vampire), shows up at Trey’s place asking him for help finding and saving Sadie. Lee tells Trey about Sadie starving (which disturbs him greatly) and that she’s been missing for a week. Lee has the ability to find people with an item that they owned so she tells Trey (and Nathan, who apparently is the mate of Lee) that she needs them for help with the rescue. They agree to help and their tracking of Sadie brings them to Alden’s house. They manage to get in and find Sadie but don’t do so well against Alden as he’s a very powerful vampire. There’s a bit of a battle before they’re able to escape but during the battle, it becomes apparent that Alden wants Lee and Sadie believes it’s for her finding power. Lee is able to phase away to safety while Trey, Nathan and Sadie get away and head to Diskant's place to regroup and plan what to do next.
Diskant and some of the other shifters aren’t too happy about Sadie being in their territory but Trey protects Sadie and tells them she’s his mate and to back off. This doesn't make people happy though because most vampires aren't people they want to be around and matings between vampires and shifters is practically unheard of. With some talking and thinking, they figure out that Alden is after Lee for her ability to find people with an object they owned. There’s an amulet that Ava’s brother has and if Alden gets a hold of it he could do some very bad things with it, like end of the world devastation type things. They believe that Alden wants to use Lee to get the amulet. While Lee and Sadie are back at the coven, Sadie realizes that the leader of their coven doesn't exactly have good intentions either and could cause problems for them. They all regroup back at Diskant's to plan out what to do next and bring in the people that they need for help. Now that they're back together, Trey wants to be with Sadie and bind them together as mates. Sadie doesn't feel she can trust Trey after how he treated her before. There's trouble with Lee and her inability to handle things (she was turned vamp forcibly and she tries to deny what she is, her need to feed and her connection to Nathan) and it ends up causing a bunch of crap that causes hard feeling all around and sets Trey and Sadie back in their relationship just when they were starting to make progress. There's more difficulties to deal with and things are rough for Trey and Sadie at first. The difficulties with Alden and trying to gain the acceptance of the pack doesn't help them with their situation. Fortunately, Trey learns his lesson and made it clear that Sadie is it for him and he'd choose her above the pack if needed. Sadie eventually learns to trust Trey and is able to get tentative acceptance by the pack (they're giving her their trust but she'll need to prove herself as they're still slightly wary). The issue with Alden and the amulet is yet to be settled but Trey and Sadie are stable enough that they end the story starting their HEA.
This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked both Trey and Sadie and liked their story. I got a little annoyed in the middle of the story because it seemed like the arguments and such got a bit out of hand and went a little overboard but it wasn't too bad. Overall the story was a good continuation of the series and I'm looking forward to seeing where things go in the next book. I'd recommend this book. :D
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Since book 1 (Omega Mine) you realize Trey is mated to a vamp.. So since Audible is missing book 2... I just couldn't wait to read this... So I of course skipped book 2 and carried on to Book 3...
Just wow... You sure do miss a lot from book 2..but it all makes sense... Trey obviously sent his mate away, with no recollection of the act... Now he is one the hunt for his vamp...
Ironically this book center around Nathan's mate (Trey's mate friend and newly made vamp)....She is supposed to be all big and bad...but she hates the magic within her... and she doesn't want to bond with Nate... Poor Nate...
I hope their book is next... Man...I love this new shifter world, Hunter has created...
Remember.. this is book 3, so we are missing so much from book 2... but I just couldn't wait!!!
Nice credit or sale...
Narration was same as book 1... pretty darn good!
I am the definition of a contradiction. I am a tomboy but just can't seem to get enough of romance books!
Omega Mine set such a high expectation in this series that this was far beneath Book 1's level!
What happens when 2 very dominant characters get together? Well, I was expecting a fight worthwhile... but sadly, that spark that is needed was just lacking!
The vampire-shifter connection was too forced to be enjoyable. I stuck through it because I wanted to learn about the action & drama behind the scenes. The romance was a burst for me...At tis point, 2 bad books and I have no choice be to call it quits on this series.... What a shame i had high hopes for this series!
Say something about yourself!
This is book 3 in the series and I have to say it was the weakest so far. Book 1 was just H-O-T...book 2 was full of awe, that's so sweet! This book was full of rushed sex, lack of bonding, still confused on whether or not these two are actually bonded since I only have the experience of the first 2 books where things went a lot differently.
I had high hopes for this book because I adore the character of Saddy, the vampire fighter, and I really liked smart alec Trey...the two of them should have been explosive and instead it kind of fizzled and I was left wanting. Supposedly book 4 is also about these two but to be honest I'm more intrigued in the side stories now. Let's see we have Ava's brother Thomas...he's bound to come up soon. We have the leader of the Pride shifters who poof has something MAJOR going on and I have to wonder if he will be running into Thomas accidentally...and now we have Mr. Alden Frost...is he a fallen vampire, or is he a good guy and what is going to happen with that human? *shudder* for that storyline alone I will buy book 4!
So, as for this book I am glad I got to hear more about this world, but not happy that I was left wanting so much at the end. Narrator was AWESOME!
