Number-one New York Times best-selling author S. C. Stephens brings us the next book in her Thoughtless series!
The spotlight doesn't only shine. Sometimes, it burns.
Being the bad-boy bassist for the world's hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife Anna. The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.
Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos - one that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes, and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers....

Say something about yourself!
I expected more from S.C Stephans! This not at all compare to the thoughtless series, I guess I was expecting more. I'm not saying it was bad but just a whole lot of Griffen bitching and not much more, sorry'q
I like the book towards the end way better than the beginning! narrators voice changes demasculate the other D bags
Rabid Listener/Reader and Shopper!
Narration, R. D. Lindo - OK, His narration was good, I just thought a few of his tertiary characters were either stereotypes or over the top. His main characters of Griffin, Anna and the majority of the band and his story telling were fine, so it was perfectly fine to listen to the majority of the book!
So, the book starts out with a note from the author about everyone's requests for more of Griffin, and how she hopes we will love him as much as she does. I was expecting some thoughts on the inside of his head that would make him endearing, and the stuff that came out of his mouth would be... well, Griffin.
Nope... With Griffin, what you see is what you get! I could not stand him. His thoughts were selfish, rude and pretty much absolutely identical to what comes out of his mouth. I kept thinking - "hmmmm...I'm not really seeing that she's making a case for me to fall in love with Griffin" And the farther you get into the book, the more you'll want to strangle the life out of him. He was right on up there with Kiera in my book.
So new shelf on Goodreads - in honor of Griffin -
"Liar, Liar Pants on Fire"
He dug himself a liars pit sooooo deep, I could see no way for him to crawl out of it, and certainly no way for him to redeem himself.
...and then, the book started to change
...so did Griffin.
Then, I LOVED this book, I loved Griffin, I cried. Griffin redeemed himself. The author wasn't crazy after all. The thoughts in his head changed. His heart changed. The band changed. Everything changed. But wait!
S.C. Stephens! What in the heck did you just do????? I was so damn sad for him that I thought my heart would break and I was cussing S.C. for what she decided to do with this character. I didn't just cry... I ugly cried.
The book wasn't done...
The story wasn't over...
And that's pretty much all I can say except - Read this series. Read this book. Stick with it. To the end. It's a Rock and Roll Roller Coaster Ride to Redemption!
I really enjoyed the story and loved the narrators voice for Griffin but the other voices the narrator used for the males in the story weren't very good.
I couldn't wait for this book. I was so excited for it, and I didn't think there was any way I would not like it. I was so wrong. I didn't just dislike it, I could hardly get through it. it even made Kellan look like an idiot I would have never read the other books if I had read this first. Griff had so much potential, I just can't believe the direction the book went. I wanted to love him for his attitude and mouth, not roll my eyes every time he spoke and find him so annoying I had a hard time getting through the book. and what's up with all the damn kids? I like kids, but reading these books is an escape, I don't want to constantly be reading about kids all the time. I hate when authors feel to get happily ever after it has to be with a bunch of kids. I love Thoughtless, Effortless and Reckless so much, Thoughtful wasn't as good, but I even liked it, but this sucked! I think the author may have an issue writing from a man's POV, he always ends up looking like a wuss. JMO
I was so eager to find out more about Griffin I was initially sad I missed his entire beginning of a relationship. He is so arrogant and self centered but it is one of those books you cannot put down. As the book went on you begin to actually fall in love and root for Griffin. I am so glad I read this book it was great getting to know d-bag Griffin
Most readers love Kellan Kyle. Now don't get me wrong, Kellan is an amazing character......but GRIFFIN!!!!! OMG! From the very beginning I have loved Griffin! This book was amazing. Griffin goes through intense changes, grows up, and becomes a most amazing man, husband, father, brother, son, cousin, friend. Narration was spectacular. S. C. Stephens you outdid yourself on this one!
S. C. Stephens didn't disappoint me. She is such a good writer. Griffin's story is captivating. I couldn't stop listening to the book. Kellan and Griffin are my favorite characters and I enjoyed reading their stories.
