Heroine...she was so annoying... she have to defy the hero at every turn...every turn...take it down a notch.
Rosalyn was great per usual.
More of a prelude to the 3rd book...
Since i like to complete series i am glad i listen to this but it is the weakest book in the trilogy.
I love Mary Balogh, and I enjoyed this book, but I had a really hard time with the heroine. She was unreasonably obstinate. The Hero was a very nice guy, actually....
Ms. Landor did a fantastic job, as usual.
I love love love Mary Balogh but this was the first time I have ever found one of her stories tedious and didn't enjoy it, Rosalyn was awesome like always!!
Auntie Mame clone
Ugh. If you like a book full of silly arguing and an ending that barely resolves anything go ahead. As usual Rosalyn Landor great in narration.
I'm an avid reader of Romance and a true romantic at heart. I also read and review in other sub-genres as well. Happy reading!
At about the half way mark, I wondered if this book would not live up to the high standards I expect from Ms. Balogh. I really struggled with liking the heroine and at times wished I could shake some sense into, but with her unfailingly talented way, Mary turned her around and had me sighing at the end. So glad i read/listened to this one. As always Ms. Landor was fabulous. Happy reading!
I love losing myself in books of any kind
I haven't been able to tolerate this storyline. The story is slow and the characters resentful and family members are mean spirited. I LOVE Mary but this is just dragging... The romance is forced
