Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author MaryJanice Davidson’s tales featuring Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor are a perfect blend of humor, horror, and high fashion. In this 10th installment, Betsy finds herself puzzling over an unusual predicament. As the Vampire Queen, she believes she cannot die. So when she wakes in the morgue, it’s a bit confusing. Could it have something to do with her recent time-traveling excursion, or has a wicked enemy emerged who could be the end of Betsy once and for all?

Genre switcheroo

I’ve loved the Betsy series up until this book. I enjoyed the series because of the light hearted tongue in cheek humor. While keeping with some humor from the other books, this book almost changes genres to the point that I’m considering not continuing the series. I’ll try the next book and hope for the best. If not. No more Betsy for me…

Fun and quick!

Betsy is back with all of her pals. In this installment, Betsy is trying to save the world from herself. Unfortunately but not unexpectedly, she doesn???t actually get very far in her mission. As with all of her adventures, Betsy is extremely active, bitches about absolutely everything just because she can, and talks about shoes. At several points, Betsy even convinces herself that she has solved the coming apocalypse. In the end, we learn that shinny objects still easily distract Betsy. I love this series. In many ways, it is a modern reinvention of Moliere???s satirical commentary on the natural vapidity of society. Furthermore, Undead and Undermined is a fascinating and hilarious window into the id, and Nancy Wu does a great job bringing MaryJanice Davidson???s undead world to life.

I'm a die hard fan.

I have loved this series from the get go. This one is okay, not as good as the past one's that I've read. I think that the stories could be longer, but maybe I'm just wanting more of the story to unfold. It seems like being in the middle of a so so story waiting for the really good stuff to come along in future books, or it's just me. I will continue to listen, but this one was just so so for me.

Interesting

I don't like the turn the books took. I am continuing with them in the hope they don't stay on this path.

She seems to get more idiotic

It seems that Betsy is so self consumed that she keeps getting more idiotic with each book. I hope this series starts to show some evaluation soon because it's getting really tiresome to keep reading about Betsy the clueless idiot.

As always amusing, but...

As always, Maryjanice Davidson is amusing and I enjoy her style of writing. Being a fan of the Queen Betsy series, I was excited to see the new one was available and downloaded it immediately. It seemed like I was listening to one that has already been released. She recapped virtually every one of the previous books, so alot of it was repetition. Listening to this, I got confused on where we were when....
Perhaps rather than repeating the same premise, perhaps Queen Betsy could actually get into a new type of situation. This book in the series was too much "same ol', same ol".

Okay maybe????

Since I’ve read all undead Queen Betsy books up to this point I gotta say I get why it happens, for fans, no spoilers and you’re welcome. I also hope that it works, that somehow the horrendous future never comes to pass. As for a theoretical alternate dimension in where Christian Louboutain (sp?) does not exist, blasphemy! As someone with oddly shaped feet not conducive to wearing Louboutain’s I still think it’s a horrible, terribly, tremendously awful thing to put in a book. If I can’t wear them and can’t afford them at least give me the pleasure of looking at them.

More of the same

I did not enjoy this nearly as much as I did the other "Undead" series.

Betsy is good gossip and a real fun listen

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The first few certainly were, but this one is getting a little like a favorite toy that you just get tired of.

If you’ve listened to books by MaryJanice Davidson before, how does this one compare?

same line of story, nothing new

What does Nancy Wu bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She makes the story fun. Her valley girl interpretation is very entertaining

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

sure

Any additional comments?

Betsy is just good fun to listen to, don't look for any deep understandings, just a good shoe sale.
