Publisher's summary

Belle Jamison is finally starting to feel like a normal girl again. Her job as a paranormal investigator is going well, she's learned to control her supernatural abilities (mostly), and she's just gotten engaged to Rome Masters, the ultra-sexy operative who once tried to neutralize her!

But planning a wedding is never easy, especially when the bride keeps accidentally torching her dress, the groom returns from a dangerous mission with selective memory loss, and the man responsible now wants Belle for himself.

With Rome's ex determined to win him back and a new band of supervillains on the horizon, it will take all Belle's powers - plus a little help from her trusty empath sidekick - to save the day, salvage the wedding and prove that true love really does conquer all.

This was awful, please don't waste your money.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't imagine.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Anything by Patricia Briggs.

What didn’t you like about Jessica Almasy’s performance?

Too fake!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None what so ever!

Any additional comments?

I wonder how this book passed the publisher.

Better than the first

The Narrator Jessica Almasy did just as well with this as with the first.

The Story/Plot was actually a bit better imho then the first book. The chars grow and you see it by their actions, thoughts, coming to understandings about themselves, etc. It was a good sequel to the first book. I will likely get another in this series if Gena Showalter writes another.

If you enjoyed the first, then you will very likely enjoy this one as well.

Good Sequel

This is the Sequel to "Playing with Fire." Both are good listens and I really like the silliness and comedy of Showalter.
It is strange to me that Showalter can write such funny, light, and enjoyable books as these and also write the dull "Lords of the Underworld" series. If you want a laugh get this.

fabulous

Even if you haven't read Playing with Fire, the first book about how Belle comes into her rather dangerous powers, you will enjoy this story, although I recommend the first one as well (and any other Gena Showalter book actually). In this story, Rome, Belle's fiance from the first book, has his memories of her stolen by another paranormal and resists all her attempts to re-instate their relationship as he feels he should still be with his ex-wife and daughter. There are various twists and turns but we know Gena is going to give us a HEA even if it takes a while. Belle has toughened up a lot from the first book but is still really likable and funny and her friends' characters have developed in a good way along with her. Hope there is going to be a third one!!

Don't want it to end!

The sequel to Playing With Fire is Twice as hot but with a cool twist. Again with the amazing narrator from the first book, Jessica Almasy, Belle's story continues and we find out that there is a hitch in ceremonies that make things interesting and heart-breaking for Belle. But in her usual spunky way, Belle tackles her problems head on if sometimes leaving a bit of a fire trail in her path.

Loved It!

Witty, fun and wild. Belle was just an average girl but now has the powers over the four elements. Her fiance shifts into a jaguar. She's planning her marriage to Rome and has to catch a scrim known as Desert Girl or Hag in Belle's words. The roller coaster keeps going as Rome loses his memory and his ex wife tries to steal him back from Belle, while another guy...who has his memories....AKA Memory Man, tries to woo her. It's just a whole bag of fun, wit and adventures with misadventures. If you've read the first book you'll love this just as much.
