Publisher's summary

Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges....

Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold-shoulder treatment forever - especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her....

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity....

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust - the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity....

LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved this book! I don't know where I've been hiding that I've missed this author, but boy am I glad I found her! I blew through the first three books in this series in 3 days! That's a lot of listening! These books are all very fast paced with lots of action, romance, steam, and a great story! The narrator is FANTASTIC!! I just can't say enough about this series! Go... read.... NOW!

Once Burned 5* this was good, the last half better

What did you like best about Twice Tempted? What did you like least?

The characters are 5 stars. Most all of the story was great. The beginning was a little weak. It would be better if some of the characters in all the other books were in the story. The end was very predictable. The same villain that wasn't killed in the last book.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was too predictable and using that character/ villain twice was too much let alone in another book. PICK a new villain or......

Which scene was your favorite?

The wedding.

Did Twice Tempted inspire you to do anything?

I usually listen to her books three or four times, this one only twice.

Any additional comments?

I could see developing her sister, dad, and Marty as characters coud be interesting. Bring in Bones and Minkeries.

Wonderful love story w/ lots of actions & thrills

Would you listen to Twice Tempted again? Why?

I have already listened to it about 4 times. I love this story and hope there is more to come

What did you like best about this story?

I love the way the writer developed the relationship between Layla and Valod

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

I like the way she gives each person their own voice and personality.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The first time I heard it I was so touched by the over whelming feeling Valod had for Layla even thought she could not seem to see them.

Any additional comments?

I would like the writer to do a book with all the characters on a mission with their spouses. I would also like to read a book with a Wedding for Bones and Cat.

Another great audio book!

What can I say, I love Jeaniene Frost! She didn't disappoint. My only problem is now having to wait for the 3rd and possible final book in this series....bummer.

Absolutely Loved This Book!

Would you listen to Twice Tempted again? Why?

I would listen to the entire series again. I loved the story with its twists and turns. Tavia Gilbert does an excellent job portraying each character. If I have any criticism it is that the book was too short and now I going to have to wait patiently for the next.

What other book might you compare Twice Tempted to and why?

JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. Same idea with each book being on specific characters and the cast of characters appearing in each book.

Which scene was your favorite?

I laughed when she awakes one morning thinking she is Mrs. Dracula and he states something about if she introduces herself like that he will make her regret it. I laughed out loud. I also like the scene when she is in blood rage and he helps her through it with a whole lot of passion. Although there were so many scenes I loved it is really hard to say.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Not sure but whoever plays the part needs to have a massive amount of sex appeal:)

Any additional comments?

If you have not read this series you need to start. I could not stop listening.

Can it get any hotter!

Would you listen to Twice Tempted again? Why?

Absolutely! I'm sure I missed something with all the action and passion!

What does Tavia Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ms. Gilbert is great at making you feel as if you are truly hearing Leila voice! She has an amazing way of bringing Frost's words to life!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and cried. I hoped and despaired. This book is HOT. With Vlad and his fiery temperament, his fire ability and the smoken hot sex scenes! I loved it!

Any additional comments?

A great spinoff series. One of the best I've ever read!

It just keeps getting better

Loved it.

Set from the point of view of Layla, this book takes place after the events of the first book. Layla is still Vlad's lover, however she is no longer content with the set-up, wanting more from Vlad than the arms-length that he keeps her at. After an unfortunate confrontation, Layla decides to make a few changes, sans Vlad, and goes back to her life before she met the infuriating vampire.

It's one event after another as Layla's return results in fatalities, deception, and heartbreak with the focal point being Layla. Someone is out to kill her and her powers are acting freaky. Add in a love-sick body guard, a sister with an unfiltered mouth, a fun little cameo from Cat and Mencheres and you have a dynamite read.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. You definitely see the unfolding and reshaping of a relationship after the infatuation has dwindled and hard decisions need to be made regarding where to take it. Layla is strong and fights for what she believes is the better choice whether it hurts her emotionally (or physically) or not. She loves Vlad, but his seemingly stand-offish and austere attitude towards the relationship is not something she wants to live with. Vlad, on the other hand is ruthless and fierce in all ways, even when it comes to love. Their interactions were fantastic and I love the little nuances in this story even though some are explained. A lot comes from Vlad because of the type of person he is.

Narrator: Tavia Gilbert
Performance: 5/5
Tavia has read for mostly all if not all of Jeaniene Frost's books and I love that publishers keep the same narrator even through spin-off series. Gilbert does an excellent job at reading the characters. She's very expressive. Sometimes almost too much so (think, love scene), but it fits and it fits well.

Fantastic

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure exactly where things were going but I loved where they ended up and I'm so glad that there is going to be more. Leila is a strong character and she actually stands up to Vlad and calls him on his actions. The whole story was a rollercoaster and packed an awful lot of action. I'm really enjoying this other look at the Night Huntress world and I did enjoy the cameo by Cat. Tavia Gilbert did a wonderful job narrating but she might have been a little over the top in her delivery a few times.

Awesome series!

I love this series. It's right up there at the top of my favorite romances. Vlad and Leila, their abilities, powers, personalities, and the fact that there's a really interesting story-line all come together to make the perfect romance series. The narrator is well chosen and compliments this series as well.

I hope the author hurries up and writes the next book!

VLAD MET HIS MATCH!!

I don't know how Frost does it...but she never disappoints!! Once Burned left you guessing as to where things could possibly go next between Vlad and Leila...and...well lets just say Twice Tempted doesn't make things go any easier for either of them.

Since the last book, you know Leila wants more from Vlad, but he just doesn't seem willing to give any more than he already his has. Nothing has changed for either of them in this next chapter, but they are both put to the test in many ways, some good and some not so good. Just when you think there is no hope...WOW!!...there is so much to say but I don't want to give anything away.

Again, there is so much packed into this book, and countless OMG moments! You just have to listen to it to find out, and Tavia Gilbert does another great job in narrating!! I can promise you it will be well worth credit! :)
