Publisher's summary

Tucker McCade has known violence his whole life: orphaned in a massacre, abused as a "half-breed" child, trained as a ruthless Texas Ranger, he's learned the hard way that might makes right.

So even he is shocked when he falls for Sally Mae, a Quaker nurse. Unable to resist Tucker's charm, character and chiseled body, she throws herself into their torrid affair, indulging every one of her wildest sexual fantasies. Tuckerï¿¿ï¿¿s occupation, however, is the one thing about him she can't embrace. A staunch pacifist, Sally Mae can't understand how his strong, caressing hand can clench in fury or pull a trigger to take a life.

In this lawless land, Tucker knows you have to fight to survive. But when Sally Mae becomes pregnant, he's willing to do whatever it takes to have his family - including hanging up his guns.

Every night they spend together exploring new heights of ecstasy binds them ever closer, slowly erasing their differences...until the day Tucker's past comes calling, precipitating an explosive showdown between her faith, his promise, and the need for revenge.

Just OK

Good but the biblical "thee" and "thou" got a bit OLD.

Okay, but glad it was over!

What did you like best about Tucker's Claim? What did you like least?

I like Tucker as he is a brute of a guy, but a real teddy bear for the most part. I hated the author's use of

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have made Sallie Mae talk like a normal person instead of a someone lost in another world. Sallie Mae's speech made it difficult for me to listen to the whole book.

Wonderful book!

This was my favorite book of the series so far!
It was a wonderful book, with likable characters, and sexy hot scenes. A book I will listen to more than once. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I find the narrators voice needs to be a little sexier, and the thees and thous a little distracting but definitely a book I will read more than once.

Love this series

Book 3 of the series. Recommend reading the books in order to avoid spoilers.

As with the previous books, well-written story with a realistic cast of characters.

Hot, hot scenes.

Narration was excellent.

Just didn't compare

to the previous 2 books. The Quaker speech was incorrect and it was really kind of typical when her books aren't usually typical or that predictible at all. That being said, I still would have bought it and will listen to it again. Just not as often as the first book. Sarah M. Hurry up and get the next in the series released!

A must read

With this instalment in the series McCarty brings together some very different cultures and outlooks on life to create a brilliant, racy, and intriguing tale. In this one Hell’s Eight wasn’t all guns blazing all the time. The audience got to see some compromise and reconciling of differences but it was still a very captivating and racy read. Personally, I loved seeing a bit of a Dom/sub relationship in a historical romance. It took me by surprise as I didn’t see it coming but it fit with the characters perfectly.

There’s lots of character development in the first few chapters of this novel. It slows the story itself down a bit, but allows for a brilliant, exciting story once we get to know the main cast. The shocking contrast between Quakers and the extreme version of the Texas rangers really adds to the intensity of the story. Seeing Tucker and Sally Mae overcome their differences and decide they are stronger together was heart-warming amidst the chaos they found themselves in.

As a whole this was a story that I couldn’t put down. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it and can’t wait to see and read more.

Great book!

This was my favorite book out of the three but I preferred the narrator for book 2 (Sam's Creed) more.

I had to stop listening

I love Sarah McCarty's Hell's Eight books, but this one's Quaker main character doesn't use 'thee' correctly so I had to stop listening. FYI, Sarah, 'thee' is the objective case, the subject of a sentence should be the word 'thou'. As in, "Thou art a good dancer, I have to hand it to thee." Dangit. I love Tucker's character in the other books too, so I'm disappointed to miss what happens to him.
