Publisher's summary

A woman's tender touch....

He was born to a clan of warriors of supernatural strength, but Gavrael McIllioch abandoned his name and his Highland castle, determined to escape the dark fate of his ancestors. Hiding his identity from the relentless rival clan that hunted him, he called himself Grimm to protect the people he cared for, vowing never to acknowledge his love for ravishing Jillian St. Clair.

Yet even from afar he watched over her, and when her father sent an urgent summons, "Come for Jillian," he raced to her side - into a competition to win her hand in marriage.

A warrior's steely heart....

Why had he run from her so many years before? And why return now to see her offered as a prize in her father's manipulative game? Furious, Jillian vowed never to wed. But Grimm was the man she loved, the one who urged her to marry another. He tried to pretend indifference as she tempted him, but he could not deny the fierce desires that compelled him to abduct her from the altar. She was the only woman who could tame the beast that raged within him - even as deadly enemies plotted to destroy them both.

Great Scot! Don't miss our other titles in the Highlander series.

One of the best of the series

Along with Beyond Highland Mist and Immortal Highlander, this is one of the best of the series. Grim is a great hero and the love story is very rewarding.

A berserk highlander in love

Grim is a Berserker. Bloodlust turns him into a wild killer that is almost impossible to stop. He first experiences this at the young age of 14 when he sees a rival clan ransack his home and kill the villagers. He also sees his father holding a bloody knife over the body of his mother. Grim runs away and ends up being found by a very young little girl, Jillian. She worships dirty wild Grim with the matted hair. He is her hero. Grim is raised by Jillian's family until the age of 22 when his foster home is attacked by the same clan that attacked his home years ago. Grim turns into a berserker to fight for his foster home, but then runs away again because he had fallen in love with jillian and does not want her to find out about his condition. Jillian is heartbroken and angry that the person she loves with all her young heart has rejected and left her. Years later Grim is summoned back to Jillian's home by her father to "Come get Jillian".

The father's plan is to have three masculine, handsome eligible men come to his home to woo Jillian, who is now 21 years old and not married. Her father and mother leave the house before the 3 men, one of whom is Grim, arrive to begin the courtship. The father does not want to be in the way of the men as they compete for Jillian. That sets up the story. From here on out there are two major plots going on. One is the courtship of Jillian and the other is that Grim is still being pursued by the rival clan and he is also being watched by his estranged father and uncle.

It is a well narrated and interesting story. The Berserker legend is interesting and the characters Grim and Jillian are very likable. There is tremendous chemistry between them. The supporting characters are also well written. This story kept my interest the entire time. I recommend it to lovers of romance stories and the Berserker legend.

Nothing tame about this story

Where does To Tame a Highland Warrior rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

This book along with the others is the series are one of my favorites. Karen Marie Moning is such a wonderful writer, she brings you into the story and your hanging on for a ravenous ride, eating up every word along the way.

What did you like best about this story?

What did I like the best you ask? Jillian's determination to break Grimm's steely reserves. Karen' makes all her warrior's strong, delicious and stubborn and it takes a strong willed woman who is equally stubborn to break the barriers these men put up.

What about Phil Gigante???s performance did you like?

What can I say about Phil Gigante that if you have listened to him read, that you don't already know. He brings the story to life with his voice. He makes it believable with his spot on interpretation of the men and the women don't sound sappy when he reads them. Phil is a great performer and when his voice is behind the words, they seem to leap off the page.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The chemistry between the two characters is unbelievable. I was so frustrated with Grimm at tumes as well as with Jillian. I think that when they finally got together I had tears in my eyes.

Any additional comments?

If you want to read a romance that will keep you from wanting to put down the pages, then To Tame A Highlander is the perfect choice. Let it take you away to Scottland on the wings of Karen's writing and Phil's seductive and thoroughly entertaining voice. Let Mr. Gigantcowhide you away to Scotland in the 15th century and let him take you through the journey while Jillian entices him to take the leap and Tame the man she loves.

Grim and Jillian were Great!

As always KMM writes an excellent book of struggle, pain and ultimately the happiness only found when two people finally get their happily ever after. It's also nice to see the love a parent has for their children and the things we will do to see them happy.
