Publisher's summary

Two years have passed since George Pembroke, Lord Sedgewick, lost his beloved wife. Though the fashionable beauties and heiresses of the ton have done their utmost to mend his broken heart, he has not remarried. Simply put, no other woman will ever do. George pays no heed to the well-meaning advice of his meddlesome sisters, Felicity and Glee - and he will have no part of their many and varied schemes to make a match....

Glee is convinced that her dear friend Sally Spenser would make a perfect governess for her niece and nephew. A vicar's daughter, Sally is charming, highly intelligent, and affectionate by nature. The plight of the motherless Pembroke children has touched her heart. And no one knows that she has long cherished a secret tenderness for their father. She consents to become part of his household - under the auspices of a marriage in name only. But Lord Sedgewick's elegant Bath town house has one very great drawback: it is very small. They must share a bedroom - and a bed.

To take this Lord: Volume 4

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love all of Cheryl's books and this was no different. "To Take This Lord" is, as usual, a fantastic book to read, or in this case listen to. I had it playing when I was getting dressed, making dinner, dusting... To put it simply, I loved it! I could visualize every location, the people, it was like I was there watching a play. I give it 5 stars! Loved it but then I always like reading her books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Adriene was trying to 'rescue' the older lady and Heloise, then Heloise's husband started calling for her, I was on pins and needles.

Good story but abrupt ending

I really enjoyed most of this book but was left feeling a bit “hanging” by the abrupt ending. This novel SERIOUSLY needs an epilogue to resolve some major issues raised in the book. I think the author just got ready to end it, and she did.

Love or love not (can't decide}

WOW!!! Want to see a great book become even better? then listen to this!!! George Pembroke lost his beloved wife Diana in child birth and blames his little son Sam for his loss. When he is told the child won't talk he decides to hire Sally to be the nanny to Sam and his daughter Georgette. One problem, .Sally is a maiden so therefore he can't have her in his house in that position. He has vowed to never love again so he asks Sally to marry him and become his children's mother. She has always been in love with him since she was a school girl and best friends with his sister Glee. It takes à deliberately set fire for George to realize his love for his son and wife. Rosalomd Ashford brings life to all the books a in this series with so much animation. I have read all they books and have two more audio recording to listen to. I am very anxious to get to them. Cheryl Bolen is my favorite author. Her books are only made better with the audio recordings.

I'll be getting a refund

Narrator makes characters sound like they are in their 70s. Husband treats wife like an employee. Wife lets him get away with it. To many sub story's without development of characters or story line. How can you kill 500 sheep in the middle of the night and no one hear it.

Best book in series so far with a nice little twist

I chose my rating because I liked this book best in the series so far because of the "twist" at the beginning of the story.
