Publisher's Summary

Caitriona Macleod gave up her career as an investigative reporter for the role of perfect wife. But after her husband is found dead in his mistress' bed, a devastated Cait leaves Chicago for the birthplace she hasn't seen since she was a child. She's hoping to heal and reconnect with her gran. The last thing she expects to find in Gandiegow is the Sexiest Man Alive. Graham Buchanan is a movie star with many secrets. A Gandiegow native, he frequently hides out in his hometown between films. He also has a son he'll do anything to protect. But Cait Macleod is too damn appealing - even if she is a journalist. If Cait turns in the story about Graham, Gandiegow will never forgive her for betraying one of its own. Should she suffer the consequences to resurrect her career? Or listen to her battered and bruised heart and give love another chance?

"Can't get enough of sexy Scottish men..."

I got this book thinking it was a Highlander story but it is set in modern day Scotland. The things I learned by listening to this book are:
    - Scottish men were amazing hundreds of years ago... and they still are!
    - I absolutely love the Scottish accent
    - Great narration makes the time go by quicker.
Yes I recommend this book! It's not only set in Scotland with that amazing accent and great narration but our hero is also a movie star... I'm in love!

    "Eh It's not bad?"

I really didn't care for the female lead much. To be blunt, she's a take it or leave it kind of female. Spent most of the books whining about herself and not taking the time to talk to those around her.

Not a fan of conflicts where all one has to do is go to the person they are angst towards and say what's wrong. Generally, in reality when you confront someone about a problem they tend to not get all in a tizzy when you approach them with calm maturity. Conflict resolution's that can be resolved in one conversation do not make for interesting conflict, especially if those conflicts last almost the entire book.

This is also not really a romance so much as it's a story about a whiny woman who has never taken charge of her own life and when she finally does the reader/listener doesn't like her enough to care.

The rest of the characters felt very flat and one dimensional.

I didn't hate it or like it so I am going stick with my headliner, it's not bad. I probably would not recommend this to the average listener/reader.

    "A good fun read."
If you could sum up To Scotland with Love in three words, what would they be?

    Snappy, enjoyable, family

What other book might you compare To Scotland with Love to and why?

Emilie Richard's Shenandoah Valley quilt series.

What about Kirsten Potter’s performance did you like?

The narration flowed and the inflection was good.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Women friends and a hunk of man too.

    Any additional comments?

Ms. Griffin writes like we talk and think. Some of the internal conversations were dead on. Good snarky comments I wish I would have made and some I have.

    "Loved it!!!"

A smooth flowing story that evolved into more rather than repeating a cycle. Great narration and I can't wait to read more by Patience Griffin.

    "struggled with this one."

The narrator saved the day. otherwise a boring story. The characters seemed flat. For me this was a missed opportunity to tell an interesting story.
