Publisher's summary

Can a wounded beast trust a beauty with a past to tame his most secret desires?

Reclusive Sir Alistair Munroe has hidden in his castle ever since returning from the Colonies, scarred inside and out. But when a mysterious beauty arrives at his door, the passions he’s kept suppressed for years begin to awaken.

Running from past mistakes has taken legendary beauty Helen Fitzwilliam from the luxury of the ton to a crumbling Scottish castle—and a job as a housekeeper. Yet Helen is determined to start a new life and won’t let dust—or a beast of a man—scare her away.

Beneath Helen’s beautiful façade, Alistair finds a courageous and sensual woman. A woman who doesn’t back away from his surliness—or his scars. But just as he begins to believe in true love, Helen’s secret past threatens to tear them apart. Now both Beast and Beauty must fight for the one thing neither believed they could ever find—a happy ever after.

Touching Romance

Would you listen to To Beguile a Beast again? Why?

Yes I probably will. I really liked this series of books and this was my favorite in the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of To Beguile a Beast?

When Helen finally sees Alistar without his eye patch and instead of being disgusted or turning away from him she treats him with tenderness and acceptance.

Have you listened to any of Anne Flosnik’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, shes ok. Not my favorite narrator but certainly not the worst.

Any additional comments?

I love Helen and Alistar, they are such an unlikely couple but perfect for each other. Alistar is so tourtured by his past but is redeemed by Helen's unconditional love. Alistar is also far from physically perfect although he is still very appealing and I tend to really like stories with imperfect characters.

Excellent

Ms Flosnik is perfect for this type of book. The drama and compassion was easily felt by the excellent way dialogue flowed between characters.

Not satisfying

I realize that this is the third in a series of four, but it really lacks closure.

Story and narrator together made this a truly wonderful story.

Loved this story. Well paced, interesting voice, a little bit of steamy just at the right times, a villian you really want to lose, a strong male with guts and honor and last but not least a beautiful, graceful, strong but still sweetly feminine heroine. The only complain is that the villian is not completely revealed and brought to justice it is only implied. I would love to see a sequel when he is.

Not an honest rating..Narrator is awful, sorry.

I cant give this an honest rating since I couldn't finish the book. The narrator is so bad it ruined the book. I am sure the story is good because Elizabeth Hoyt is a great author. I haven't read the book myself to rate the story, but the listen is not good. Amazon has some good ratings for this book, so I would recommend reading and not listening.
