Publisher's Summary

Grace’s autistic son needs a life that is safe and consistent. Seth wants to leave his flirting days behind him and settle down.

Deep in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania, the beautiful and weary Amish widow Grace Beiler is not looking for a husband - especially one so much younger than she is. But handsome - and smitten - Seth Wyse stumbles upon a way to help her, and they marry to keep Grace’s autistic son safe from his ill-intentioned uncle.

Grace soon discovers that she is far from immune to her young husband’s experienced charm and realizes that her first marriage has not destroyed her capacity for love. Seth, meanwhile, seeks counsel from his older brother when playing the game of pursuing his wife becomes more dangerous to both his heart and his life than he ever imagined.

Despite their troubles, God gives Grace and Seth a passion for family, and for each other, that teaches them the ways of the Master Quilter through the tangled and tender threads of their lives.

Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.

"The Amish, Autism and Facing Adversity"

The rain falls on the just and the unjust . . . and we see this in Threads of Grace, the story of Grace Beiler and her young autistic son, Abel . . . we often see Amish families portrayed as perfect, peace loving families, never touched by selfish or evil intent . . . but as all Christians, they are tempted and sometimes found lacking . . . so it was with Grace's family, deep in debt, who allowed young Grace to be married off to Silas Beiler, a wealthy widower to save the family . . . wounded after being berated and abused by Silas, and with a young autistic son, Grace flees to Pennsylvania for a new start after her husband dies . . . but soon after her move, Tobias, her late husband's brother shows up, with a copy of Silas' will, stating that if Grace is not remarried within six months of Silas' death, then everything will go to his brother . . . Tobias tries to strong arm Grace into marrying him . . . with time running out, Grace thinks to pack up and run with her son Abe . . . but young Seth Wyse, local Amish farmer and painter, offers to marry Grace and be a father to her son . . . the story that follows is one of mercy, respect and evolving love between Seth, Abe and Grace . . . I love the acceptance that the Amish have for their "lot" in life . . . the community they share . . . how they care for one another . . . that said, I also appreciate the honesty in Kelly Long's writing, depicting the fact that sometimes the choices foisted upon the children of Amish by their parents are not always in their best interest (as is true with English families).

"Another Stunning Romance From Kelly Long!"

Loved this book by Kelly Long. Grace experienced an awful marriage. Now a widow she and her autistic son have resettled in another community. When her past catches up with her she ends up married to Seth. He's an amazing hero and protects her when catastrophe threatens. Kelly Long's characters have perseverance and hope "in spades," something that I love! Narration was good and kept the story true to Long's author voice. There is an element in the story that I've never seen in Kelly Long's books and although it was somewhat distracting at times it did not diminish my appreciation for the overall story and characterization. I'd highly recommend this audio listen!

I love Christian fiction and cozy mysteries. I'm blind now, so I listen to all my books.

Would you consider the audio edition of Threads of Grace to be better than the print version?

I always enjoy the audio versions best.

    Any additional comments?

I loved the story of Grace, Seth and Abel. This was such a great series.

    "Not A Keeper"

book is off. It makes no sense in what a true novel is supposed to be like. Too much poor judgment on characters you gotta read between the lines.
