At Mia's mercy....

As the leader of the Blackpaw werewolf pack, Nick Jenner had spent years protecting his people from dark outside forces. When the victim of a feral drifter turns up on Blackpaw territory, he thinks nothing of bringing her home while her attacker is hunted down and destroyed. But Jenner soon finds that nothing about his alluring new houseguest is what it seems.

Mia D'Alessandro, a dark beauty with abilities she would rather forget, was mortified to find herself the victim of a man she thought she could trust. As the full moon approaches, his bite will unleash an inner wolf that can destroy her unless she bonds with a pack. But the darkness now stalking her threatens to destroy far more, including her strong, silent guardian.

I had to double check this wasn't Abridged

As Wereshifter books go this had some action but I just felt there wasn't much romance or passion. Mia bitten but escaped only to be captured by Jenner who mistrusts Mia and continually fights his attraction to her during most of the book.

I don't think enough was explained (Mia's magic is still unexplained) and it sounded more like an abridged version of a book. The two lovers didn't get together until the very end when all of a sudden during a fight with the Shadowkin (not really explained) and their Leader (I think) they both declare their love as they could suddenly telepathically talk to each other. Coupled with this, there was no real descriptive imagery by the author to let your mind build the imaginary world.

It ended like there was going to be a full series to explain and tie-up things but alas (or thankfully) it doesn't look like there's another in the pipeline.

Worth a credit? Lots of missing information, a lack of any sexual sparks, a sudden happy ending without fully ending and a very slow narrator made this a NO WAY I'm afraid - there are far better Wereshifter books out there.

I liked it but.... missing something.... yes..

I like the wolf story... That was very good. Great drama and action. Even at the end, but I don't know... This will never be a level 3 for me... just a 2.

I got bored before the story truly started

Woman gets chased through woods, attacked and rescued. Her new life starts out with mainly men manipulating her but because of archaic laws its considered 'acceptable' instead of 'mysogynistic'.

There was no build up to make the female relatable or give the reader a reason to care other than the 'women need to be treated better' agreement. If that was all I wanted to hear then I would talk to any woman who is even slightly independent and gripe with them.

From a story, I want a main character I can relate to and root for. Other than desiring she kick the guys between the legs, I didn't really care either way.

Good story.

Kept me captivated and wanting more. My only complaint: there's only one book! I'm dying for more of the story.
