Sci-fi, Fantasy, Mystery, Adventure, and YA Novels. If it weren't for physics, law enforcement, and my medication, I'd be unstoppable!
The first thing I will say is that this WAS a decent book with a solid story... BUT, having said that, it was not what I thought I was going to be listening to. I thought this was going to be a ghost story with a romance. It was actually 90% romance, sex, and love, 9% haunted house, and 1% boring.
The main character inherits an old home in the country and decides to move in and fix it up. The caretaker ends up being an attractive male just recently single after ending an engagement with another woman. The two develop feelings and a budding romance quickly turns into passionate love. However, the house has its own secrets and past... And the two may not be alone.
To be honest, I didn't believe a good portion of the romance. The two main characters went from perfect strangers to love-sick puppies in what seemed like 3 pages of a book... And while I thought there would be love scenes, I can only deal with so many in one book...
While in the end I still thought the book was decent and gave it a generous 4 overall, it really wasn't what I was expecting.
The narration of this book, however, was absolutely top notch. The narrator did an excellent job with different voices, accents, and tone throughout the book.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.
I love audiobooks!!!
An interesting and different take on the "haunted house" trope. The narrator did a great job with regional accents and colloquialisms. The author is an auto-buy, for me.
I got this book via audiobook boom. The best thing I can say about this book is that the narrator took what would have been a dull book and turned it into something exciting and wonderful. I did expect more of the haunted house stuff but got romance and love scenes. The two fell in love so fast that I thought I missed something but that was not the case. They meet and developed a relationship with nothing in between. I expected a little more depth to the building of the relationship especially for how long the book was.
I am a wee bit over the half a century mark in years. I enjoy audiobooks, cats, rats and most days my family, not necessarily in that order!lo
A family ripped apart by violence and lies. When a new member of the family inherits the house she is met by ghosts and finds a diary that explains it all...to a point.I'd be willing to try the other books coming.I wasn't that impressed with Susan Marlowes male voices. They were very creepy.I was given this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. At first when i started listening to this book I thought that I had made a mistake because it seemed like it was mostly just about a love story and sex. As I kept going the story got more and more interesting and I got sucked into the characters more and more. The ghost story began to take more shape and the sex got better and better. Man can this author write a steamy, seductive and intelligently descriptive sexual encounter. The narrator did a great job telling the story and I would definitely listen to her again.
I've gotten pretty burned out on paranormal stories, but this one was a bit different, and I enjoyed listening to it! I would recommend giving it a listen. I received a copy of the audio
book free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review, and am happy that I can give a good one! Narrator did a good job, as well.
It was Awesome. The narrator really caught the feeling of the scene with her tone.
All the ghost scenes were great and spooky. Also I loved the romance it was sweet and deep.
The ghost activity was really cool. I also enjoyed the passion between Michael and Melissa.

Here's a full review -
I really enjoyed this ghost story! Brenda Tetreault really set a spooky scene! I listened to the audiobook of The Witcher Legacy, and I liked how the narrator helped set the mood of the scene with her voice. The Witcher Legacy starts in the past with the suicides of Louisa Witcher and her sister, and then the murder of their mother all at the Witcher House. Fast forward to the present where Melissa Witcher has inherited the Witcher House, so Melissa has relocated to Bounty Cove, where she is hoping to connect with her father, the local town doctor and find a place where she belongs, but all doesn't go quite as planned. Melissa hears some stories about her house being haunted, and then she begins to experience some unusual things, so she decides to look into the history of her house. I really enjoyed listening to the mystery unfold. There's also quite a love story in this book, and it was a lot sexier then I was thinking it would be, which I happened to enjoy, so I was all on board for the steam between Melissa and Michael. Melissa meets Michael, who is there to help her clean and fix up the house, and there is an instant connection between the two, but Michael wants to take things slow because he just got out of a sticky situation. Melissa and Michael grow closer as the story progresses, and they are so sweet with each other; well most of the time anyway, and I loved how deeply they fell in love with each other. Melissa and Michael are on their way to happiness, but some obstacles get in their way, such as ghosts, exes, and multiple crazy people. It was tough to hear the struggles that Melissa and Michael go through, but I loved how devoted they both are to each other. The ghost stuff is creepy and grim, and really puts a chill in your bones, and it was some good stuff. The whole ending was brutal! I also would have liked a bit more in the ending, but for the most part I loved this book. The only thing I didn't love was anything to do with the character Jaime, he is suppose to Melissa's friend, but I never got that impression besides the initial meeting, but after that I would say he is a pretty crap friend, and I didn't like how his story unfolded, and a moment that I feel should have been just Melissa's was overtaken with an action by Jamie, so I just didn't like anything to do with him, and would have been happy if he were omitted from this book, but I didn't let that affect my rating. If you are looking for a hot and sweet romance with a spooky mystery, I say definitely give this a go! I'm looking forward to reading more by Brenda Tetreault!
Oh yes, it is a great hauntingly listen.
I do not compare books. This is a one of a kind.
No but I will from now on I love her voice and portrayal of characters.
A gamet of emotions played in my mind as I listened.
Well narrated, well spoken, came alive in my mind.
I enjoyed listening to this book, however, there were some aspects that left me wanting a little more from the narrator, as well as the writer. In a few parts of the story, I felt there could have been a little more showing instead of telling. Also, the narrator's pacing was a bit slow and drawn out for me, but I'm picky about my narrators. Overall, the plot was interesting and the book was enough to keep my interest.
