Perfect for fans of Deborah Harkness and Elizabeth Kostova, The Water Witch is a breathtakingly sexy and atmospheric novel of ancient folklore, passionate love, and thrilling magic.
After casting out a dark spirit, Callie McFay, a professor of Gothic literature, has at last restored a semblance of calm to her rambling Victorian house. But in the nearby thicket of the honeysuckle forest, and in the currents of the rushing Undine stream, more trouble is stirring.
The enchanted town of Fairwick’s dazzling mix of mythical creatures has come under siege from the Grove: a sinister group of witches determined to banish the fey back to their ancestral land. With factions turning on one another, all are cruelly forced to take sides. Callie’s grandmother, a prominent Grove member, demands her granddaughter’s compliance, but half-witch/half-fey Callie can hardly betray her friends and colleagues at the college. To stave off disaster, Callie enlists Duncan Laird, a seductive academic who cultivates her vast magical potential, but to what end? Deeply conflicted, Callie struggles to save her beloved Fairwick, dangerously pushing her extraordinary powers to the limit - risking all, even the needs of her own passionate heart.

I've become an audible snob since coming to love Brandon Sanderson's books with Michael Kramer and Kate Reading... Few could compare... The combo of Juliet Dark's writing and Justine's performance meets and exceeds that high expectation of an amazing story and performance that brings it to life.
I love my life but trading allows me to escape without transportation cost!
loved it! Riveting interesting great to see the characters again . I'm interested in what happens to everyone in fairy and in fFairwick. Kaylee will make a way
yes Book one Demon Lover had many things about it that I enjoyed, unfortunately books 2 and 3 weren't as good, but I would still be willing to give other books by this author a chance.
She was very good at giving the females distinct voices. The male voices werent as distinctive.
If she had kept the dark gothic feel of the first book throughout the trilogy.
I loved the storyline in the first book, this one fell right into place, continuing without interruption...
The ending was superb, i was kept guessing all the way through the book until the last moment, and then left hanging so that I HAVE to get the next book in the series...
In the first book Justine's breathy voice got on my nerves. She let off just a little bit in this book and I actually began to enjoy hearing her voice.
I loved it! The first book was a succubus sex fest, this one actually took more time with the plot which I enjoyed... though I have no issues with the racy parts... i am glad to see that they were not the most prominent part to the book as I love the characters.
Definitely worth the money!
