Drawn to an old trunk in the attic, Lara Calhoun is unable to resist finding out what treasure her late, beloved mother had kept hidden away for all these years. Her unexpected discovery soon turns her world upside down and makes her second-guess everything she's ever believed about her mother and about love. Will it lead her straight into Dave Lafferty's arms, or make her turn away from the love of a lifetime?

I would say no. I could have been enjoying my time better elsewhere. While the narrator is very skilled and does what she can with the book she has been given the text and story is lacking in being realistic and ability to connect to characters.
I would say if you want a short, incomplete feeling story in which nothing really of any importance happens and it stays free (it was $0.00 when I purchased it) then go right ahead. If I would have paid for this title using a credit or just outright purchasing it I would have returned it right away.
I have not. I do not have any fault with her performance though of the material she was given.
No, I do not believe so.
I did not care for the music at the beginning and end of the audiobook however it does go away quite quickly. The whole story is lacking in real climax or suspense. Everything is quite easily predicted and feels silly. I have no connection to the characters or the plotline. I feel like this could have been a short story and cut out part of the whole "romance"-ish nature and have it be (spoiler) just two people meeting one another realizing their parents at one point were engaged and sparks now fly between them. It feel cheesy and overdone.
This was a nice up lifting short love story.
I have not.
Voice was easy to listen too.
No. The story felt too short to be made into a movie.
Yes, it was a quick story with just enough of everything. Mystery, romance, loss, and a great happily ever after.
It's all about "YOU!"
Of course the "big event" - the tumbling down the stairs in her wedding gown into the arms of your new husband!
the story was delivered nicely. It is truly rare that I run into a 'horrible' narrator like some of the fake negative reviews on these sites claim an audio book to have.
that would be fun. To see how her life unfolds with the highs and lows and past brought forward.
Nothing from Sherryl Woods.
Something by Lisa Gardner
Yes, it was the story that was terrible
the fact that it was only 38 minutes long
I've read books about vampires and werewolves, but this is probably the most unbelievable story I've ever read.
Yes, I would purchase another book from both Sherryl Woods and Elenna Stauffer
The story was very predictable, I pretty much knew what was going to happen next. The most interesting surprise was discovering Peter arrange the meeting between Lara and Dave.
Lara was my favorite
If the story and characters were more developed, I could see a very good novella.
The concept is silly. The fact that the author must have thought woman would like a hero that is that cold hearted on Valentines day is just annoying.
Tell us about yourself!
Making this a little longer. I like the fact that she end up her moms ex fience son. This had a great poteintal of being a really great book.
she was no diffent then the others. Very clear
no! This book just seem old. Already done this was a no brainer what was going to happen.
I chose this selection because I generally like the short story form and it was free. I wasn't expecting a formula romance, and I'm not a big fan of romance stories. If I had been buying it, I might have noticed that it was published by Harlequin and known it wasn't my type of story.
The performance was fine and the story had a reasonable set up but patent and predictable. I thought it lacked depth and the little bit of intrigue didn't really go far enough.
