    "narrator so horrible, couldn't listen!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    a different narrator.

What was most disappointing about Christine Feehan’s story?

I honestly don't know, I couldn't listen to more than an hour of it.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

too slow, fake voices, wrong intonation.

    "Don't buy it!"
Would you be willing to try another book from Christine Feehan? Why or why not?

    No. This was terrible.

Would you be willing to try another one of Teri Clark Linden’s performances?

She had no emotion. Even when the story was clearly overdramatic and supposedly impassioned she simply sounded like she was reading a phonebook. So no, I would go put of my way to avoid any other books she read, especially if I liked the print version. I'd hate to hear her butcher a good book.

    Any additional comments?

I've never read anything by this author before and I'm not a romance fan. I bought this because it was a daily deal and it almost put me to sleep instantly. I kept waiting for it to get better, or for something to happen, but even when things supposedly occurred I didn't care. I doubt I'll finish this. There are too many good books available for me to waste my time on this mess.

71 year old avid reader using either my eyes or ears. I make earrings that I donate to shelters and while I work, I listen to wonderful books. I also keep in mind that you have to kiss frogs to find princes - time's too short to bother with losers.

"Seldom do I dislike a narrator..."

...but there's always an exception. This woman sounded (as she carefully enunciated every word) like she was reading to a child not like she was telling a tale. I don't know about the story because I pitched the book early because of the narration.

    "Mostly a waste of time."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

There is no way you can call the reading of this book a "performance". I perform better than this reading to my grandchildren. The narrator was horrible. There was enough of a story that I kept plodding on with the book, but eventually even that became lame. There was more telling of the sexual encounters between Matt and Kate than any supernatural story. This would have been a decent book if it had concentrated on the Drake sisters, their abilities and the problem at hand.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was nothing that couldn't have been foretold after chapter one.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Teri Clark Linden?

    Anybody would have been better.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment and boredom.

    "Good overall but short"

This is part of a series but it is extremely short and, in my opinion, not worth the price I paid. Others in the series are twice as long and cost the same.

"Good story, not the best choice for a narrator"

First of all, let me say that I was glad the missing book in this series finally came to Audible. I was overjoyed when I saw it.

Listening to the book was an unforgetable experience. It was obvious the narrator did her homework, because characters for voices and accents matched the other books in this series, even though different narators narrated the books.

However, it was very disconcerting listening to the steamy scenes, because the narrator read them in the same way one woudl read Alice In Wonderland or something like that. I felt like I was listening to an elementary school teacher reading at story time, but listening to sex scenes that way was shocking.

    "Really didn't like performance"

I waited a long time for this audio to be released to complete my collection of the Drake Series and disliked the performance so much I almost stopped listening, a first of all the recorded books I've purchased. I liked the story however I was glad Christine Feehan turned the Drake magic against evil in human form rather than the supernatural in the rest of the books in the Drakes series. This is my favorite Christine Feehan series so I was really disappointed that the people who produced this audio missed the mark so badly with the performance.

    "Great Story-Bad Narrator"

    Hi,

I have read all the drake sisters novels and so when the opportunity to listen to them on audible came I jumped at the opportunity. I was very disappointed by the narrator of this story. She didn't seem to have any emotion in her voice and when something exciting was happening it seemed as if she was reading a grocery list. The narrator has a nice voice but not for this type of book.

    "Narration drove me crazy!"
What disappointed you about The Twilight Before Christmas?

I waited with anticipation for the next installment of the Drake sisters' adventures. What a disappointment. The story was so-so, but the narration was irritating and painful - the voices of many of the characters would have been laughable if not so annoying. Listen at your own risk.

Would you be willing to try another one of Teri Clark Linden’s performances?

    Never.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No.

    "Bad choice in Narrator"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

Admittedly, I'm listening to all these books out of order... but I have to say that if I had listened to this before the others I would not have continued. This woman sounds like she is reading to pre-schoolers, and gets on my nerves in about 5 minutes. I would love to just get my money back and buy the kindal book to read, but I know that wouldn't happen.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

everything. She is slow, and makes me feel like she's talking down to the audience

    Any additional comments?

I like the Author, and the Drake sister stories so far have been awesome. I think this was the last one I had to listen too to complete the series. (I've already listened to the one where they all get married). It's just sad it had to end like this.
