Gray was beautiful four years ago, when he asked Isabel to marry him. Now there are no words to describe him. He is no longer young and reckless, not by any stretch of the imagination, but a tormented man, driven by secrets, silent about what he’s done since he disappeared. She knew how to handle the boy he was, but this man…this man is not tamable. Does she dare explore the places inside herself that Gray demands to possess? Does she trust him enough to bare herself completely to a lover who has returned as a stranger?

Anger- how can audible accept this bad performance?
This narration was just the worse! there is no way to rate the story because Sarah Coomes just killed this book. It is almost like she decided to make fun of the book.
I have heard her in other books and she was fine, maybe not the greatest, but not bad at all. In this book, it was so bad that at times it was commical-every male voice sounded like a badly constipated old man; the entire book is over-acted and sounds like a bad parody, but not in a funny way.
I am very surprise that audible published it as is- where is your quality control?
DO NOT DO IT-bottom line- it is not worth anything, even free it is impossible to listen to it.
I have to stop listening, I can't finish because of the badest narration ever. Spear your credit.
The narrator makes getting through this novel; positively tedious. Her reading sounds like its stuck between a whine and a growl which is a little disturbing. I eventually just bought the book for my Kindle as the narrator was really working my nerves.
Have another narrator.
No all loose ends were brought to a close.
Can't comment on the story because the intolerable narration made it impossible to finish. Do not waste money or credit.
Winter's coming -- almost time to huddle up with my ipod and hot chocolate!
This is one of the most godawful narrations ever. Audible should allow readers to nominate the worst narrations of the year awards because this mess would win first prize.
Sarah Coomes chews up the scenery in a reading so vaudevillian as to be comical -- if only that is what we came here for. Her natural speaking voice (which is what I heard in the sample) is a lovely British accent that sounded perfect for the story, but for some horrible reason she read each character in an over the top, heavy handed caricature of high class pompousness that sounded painful not only to hear but also to say! Where was the directer? (I pictured some idiot in the sound booth saying "more, more, more!")
Perhaps it wasn't Sarah fault but the directors fault? I don't know. I just know I'm going to purchase this on Kindle because the reviews at Amazon were great.
As for the story -- I wish we had the option of putting a question mark instead of a star. I listened to almost an hour of this and I still couldn't tell you if it was good or not. I know it's only $7 -- but trust me. Go get a latte and a cookie instead.
No one but the deaf! The book is great but the narrator ruined it!
I like them all because they are so varried yet they blend well.
Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard! I could not listen without frowning and gaining a headache! How no one noticed the severity of her terrible performance is beyond me!
All of the above only because of the narrator.
I would love my money back since I couldn't even get passed half of the first chapter!
I am not sure. The narration is so horrible I couldn't enjoy the story.
The narration was the determining factor.
This narration was so bad I couldn't even finish the book. Not to mention the story started out boring.
Don't waste your money or credit on this. Luckily I got it on my KU as free read free listen. I would have been really upset if I had paid for it.
I would have rather listened to Siri read it!
