For 10 years, Gabe Talmadge languished in prison, convicted of a horrible crime. Now, he is free once again but unable to find work in the midst of the Great Depression. In desperation, Gabe returns to Ransom, Idaho, hoping that his uncaring father will give him food and shelter, if not love.
But the prodigal son is not welcomed home. Hungry and hopeless, Gabe is rescued by the owner of a sheep ranch south of Ransom. Incredibly, Akira Macauley gives him a place to live and work to do. More than that, she gives him hope. But just as Gabe comes to believe that happiness may be within his grasp, his life begins to unravel. Gabe must either sink again into an abyss of hopelessness or cling to a hope, faith, and love stronger than any he has ever known.

Nice faith based story. it was a bit odd at the beginning but all in all a nice listen. Robin Lee Hatcher has some real great books out there. (this one is average) but as a whole I read/listen to everything that she puts out there. You just never know what you will get, however you do know that she is a quality writer and it will be interesting.
Yes. Several different story lines but not so many that you're working to keep up with them all. So many great messages although it does feel a little bit "preachy" at times.
Too many to count. If I had to pick just one however I would say the time when Gabe temporarily leaves home to go and commune with the Lord one on one. It not only took strength, faith and courage to leave home but those things were also required of his wife to be at peace in his absence.
Coming to America series is another treat from this author.
At times gave me pause for thought. Religious without being sappy.
When Gabe realises he is in love.
When the baby was born
The description didn't make it clear that this is an extremely religious and totally preachy book disguised as a romance.
If you're a fan of fundamental Christian novels, you'll love this one, If not - be forewarned.
Well written, well read. I enjoyed it and will be picking this one up again to listen to in the not too distant future.
