Scarred and Healed together in one box set!
Sometimes the deepest scars are the ones you don't see.
Everyone in Jonesville thought that Bryce Evans had the perfect life in High School: he was the Mayor's son, the quarterback for the football team, the boyfriend of the head cheerleader and had a 4.1 GPA. His acceptance to Notre Dame came as no surprise, but when he chose to enlist in the marines instead everyone was shocked.
Lexi Lord was the quiet girl in school and kept to her small group of eccentric friends. She had no connection to any of the popular kids except for one incident on Prom Night when her path crossed with Bryce's.
When Bryce enlisted Lexi was the only one that wasn't disappointed, and decided to send him anonymous letters as a way to feel connected to him. She stopped after a year because she felt there was nowhere for their relationship to go.
Fast-forward four years and Bryce is back in Jonesville, and once again he and Lexi cross paths. Only he's no longer the seemingly perfect man and Lexi's no longer the quiet girl.
This time their relationship is quite different, but both of them have secrets from the past and friends that threaten to ruin their chance at happiness together.
Sometimes love can heal you from your scarred past. But sometimes it's the love we don't expect that makes the biggest impact.
Lexi Lord has dreamed of dating Bryce Evans for years. But now that her dream has become a reality, she is no longer sure that he is the man for her. When a death unveils a deep secret, Bryce and Lexi's world together is torn apart and they are both forced to question everything surrounding their relationship and very existence.
There are some bonds that can never be broken, but Lexi and Bryce have to decide which love can heal them from their scarred pasts and which love they have to let go of.

I tried to like this. At first I did... but the drama is too forced, I can see where the story line is going and got so fed up with it that I had to stop listening. BUT I liked the characters so I would go back, and then the forced drama would happen again and I just couldn't take it anymore. I can't even finish the book. Bummer...
I love listening and feeling an emotional response to a story the way an author intended. A great narrator can make or break a great book.
No one would enjoy this narration.
I am going to read the book instead. There was a lot of skipping and again the narration was awful.
There was no clear distinction between characters, which made it extremely difficult to follow. There was a monotone "Charlie Browns teacher" sound.
Firstly, I would have chosen a different narration. I know I keep saying this but when I can't concentrate on what is being read because I can't tell who is saying it...and I will read the book and see if there is anything I would cut.
It was cool to be able to do things while hearing the story.
The best part for me was the self discovery and growth both Lexi and Bryce experienced.
War is hell but so is life
This was my very first audio book, it was the first time in many years that anyone has read me a story. It was difficult to get into it at first but once I did I stole every moment I could to listen. I will give a word of advice, if you listen on your phone like I did turn your phone to airplane mode or else it will aggravate you when you get a notice and causes your story to pause. Took me a little bit before I thought to do that. I loved the story. There were many twist that will surprise you, but you'll see the characters really change and grow as they become more in tune with their real feelings. I would love to read more about them!! The whole audio thing was a first so I have no comparison. I did however feel the narrator used a very juvenile voice in some instances, but over all it was pleasant to listen to. I think I will do audible again!
This was an ok story. I'm not sure if it was the person reading that threw me off or what. The person made everyone sound a bit childish in my opinion. I think the story had a good plot line just some of the characters came off immature.
