Has this immortal finally met her match?
Rogue hunter Drina Argenis (from the Spanish side of the Argeneau family) has been many things in her years as an immortal, but bodyguard/babysitter to a teenage vampire is something new. There's an incentive, however: the other vampsitter, Harper Stoyan, may be Drina's life mate.
Trouble is, having just lost a life mate, Harper is resigned to being alone. He's completely unprepared when sexy and unpredictable Drina bursts into his life to reignite his passions. Can Drina, with a little matchmaking help from their teen charge, tempt this reluctant vampire to take a chance?
Or will a dangerous, unseen renegade kill Drina and Harper's one chance at happiness?
Love in vein: listen to more tales of the Argeneau Vampires.

I always love the Argenueau stories. This one is as good as the rest. The shopping trip to walmart was SO funny. The adjectives "wryly and dryly" were way overused but the story line is great.
Ok this series ROCKS!! You will be sighing and chuckling through each book ??? funny, clever and touching. I???ve read each one and 'listened' to each audio book and LOVE them all.
I am still not sure who the reluctant vampire is, but I was definitely a reluctant reader. The whole "Marguerite says you are life mates" line is getting very old.
Despite the story being rather long in the tooth (pun totally intended), the performer did a great job with the female voices and accents. I don't know why all her male characterizations have to sound so Forrest Gump-like to me, but they do. Just because a fellow with the name Tiny is a big buy, it doesn't mean he has to sound like he's punch-drunk.
I will say that I learned that skunks are native to North America, but you'd think even a European vampire would've seen an episode or two of Looney Tunes in her long lifetime and realized that odd flat looking kitty with the white stripe down its back is, indeed, Peppy LePew!. That part in the book was hilarious.
Not a bad story...I will continue to listen to Lynsay's Vamp stories because they are reliable in that I know I will overall enjoy the listen...good Narrators, decent story lines...but always a little preditable...but safe....meaning I know it won't be a wasted credit to use on one of her books...Usually aren't my favorite stories, but I enjoy them...
This is probably one if not my favorite book in this series so far...I have really enjoyed this series the way the characters build on each other and old characters are brought back to help new characters. Ms. Sands incorporates all the emotions and always makes for a good read or listen. Can't wait to start the new one.
love to escape in to my Books, Historical, Highlander Scottish Romance , Mysteries & Suspense , Time Travel the Classics, Paranormal Romance
to be able to visit again the Argeneau Vampires
You just got to love the Argeneau Vampires
Love to listen to books. Do tons of driving and they keep me sane.
I have picked through the series and listened out of order and I really enjoyed this one. At first the narration on one of the main characters bugged me a bit, just a bit slow in delivery. But I like Drinna and the others very much. Considering Book 16 now.
I do not just want to read books; i wish i could climb in and live there.
I enjoyed the narrator and the story!
I loved the FB shoes, smelly cat and the pantry scene all made me smile ....
No I like to enjoy my listing I like to make it last... :D
I really enjoyed the narrator and the story .... Harper and Drina really complemented each other ...hope they do have children. <3
Hmmm. If this wasn't a part of a what used to be a series of really funny enjoyable novels, I would have given 3.5 stars. This book had albeit hot but too much unnecessary sex, lame villain and plot. I also lost who's who from the previous novels except for Lucien or Margarete since there are so many characters.... I think I will stick with the first several novels....
