Juvenile, but Sweet

In my opinion it is better suited to a teenage audience, than a mature one.
It's sweet, with a little humor about her rooster.

The narrator has a nice voice.

Another enjoyable book

I still have not gotten my fill of this author's books. Now onto another book by Diana Palmer.
Thank you for never waiting my time by poorly written stories.

Better than normal DP

It's rare for DP to write a story where the hero isn't at least 10 years older than the barely-legal virginal heroine, but for once she did. She also seems to reuse plot devices as if they were Tupperware, but this story was a bit more original and even more believable. I did feel sorry for the demise of Pumpkin the cowboy attacking rooster. The hero's former girlfriend was a bit of a stretch, but put up with it.

The narrator was decent and she was able to perform both male and female characters comfortably.

Diana Palmer does it again!!

Palmer never failing to spin a story that engages the readers and draws them into the story again. and this story is no exception as she uses humor, suspense, dislike, and love to entertain us. from two rich heirs who are best friends who have numerous women throwing themselves at them to the poor down trodden orphan who is a neighbor harrassed by the sister of one of the heirs, great aunts, farm hands, etc. the characters are numerous and varied but my favorite is a two legged Male who struts around with no respect for boundaries or rules. selfishly satisfying his own needs he strikes fear into those around him with his dangerous interactions with them. is it one of the rich heirs, someone else? you really must read this book to see who this character is, how he developed, and how he comes to a brutal end of life. you won't regret it.

Romance for the very uptight

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book is filled with the author's very awkward and obvious life style opinions. If you are a prude and like very superficial character stereotypes this is the book for you.

What was most disappointing about Diana Palmer’s story?

Lacks relatable characters and it's very superficial. She had the opportunity to explore a very difficult topic and squandered it. Extreme lack of character building.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Nothing, the story didn't give her much to work with from the beginning.

Spoilers

Cort is an ass. He’s rude, mean and verbally abusive and the female love interest falls for him anyway. His actual girlfriend is her High School bully and runs her over with his car and she forgives and forgives. The female love interest is laying in the road paralyzed from the legs down and everyone is more worried about the mean girls pretty dress being stained with blood (including the paralyzed girl! And the cop investigating the accident! And her own aunt!) the mean girl then just moved in and is her best friend.

Girl, if you cyber bully me then run me over with a car and kill my pet chicken I am NEVER going to be your friend.

Man, tell me I’m ugly, have no talent and you hate my flat boobs I am NEVER going to love or even like you.

Gaaaahhh, what is the author thinking? Self esteem much?

Don’t read this book.
