New York Times best-selling author Nora Roberts returns with the classic tales of the MacKade brothers - their rebellions, their passions and their loves.
Jared MacKade believes in taking a stand, and he never turns his back on a fight. So when his work as an attorney brings him up against Savannah Morningstar, her rude behavior and strong defenses aren't nearly enough to scare him off - quite the opposite. Thoughts of the outrageously direct and sinfully sexy woman keep Jared coming back for more. And the more he gets to know her, the more determined he is to stand by her always.

Stop the fighting every single time they have a conversation.
A David Baldacci Novel
Overall it was ok. He doesn't do kids very well. He makes Brian sound constipated when he talks.
I really like her trilogies but this one doesn't have enough story line. The first book in the series was really good as it had a more in depth story line. This book just seems to center around her past. Jared seems obsessed about finding out about her past.
Usually I find Nora Roberts stories good but wish they did not have so much character mind ramblings. Well this series made my wish come true. The books are shorter and the stories more precise. Female characters are tough and the MacKade men irresistible. The sex is passionate and love develops fast. Well it has to in a 6 hour story. I enjoyed it and found it well worth the money.
My name is Tessie. I'm a married, twenty-something bookworm who loves her kindle, her husband, and hot tea. ✝ Festina Lente.
I'm not sure. The characters grated on my nerves a bit. Good God Almighty those two are full of pride.
I loved when Jared and Brian had their talk in the woods. It made me a bit teary eyed.
He has to be my favorite narrator ever. This one is ok, but I seriously loved his performance of the first book in this series.
Too much pride, not enough talking.
i would listen to this book again. i know there are things i missed the first time listening.
i listened to this book from start to finish. i listen to these at work. but, find myself listening after work as well. just because of being so pulled into the book
someone who isn't bothered by the anger
the male attitude
I am not sure if my dislike of the series is the story or the narrator. I felt the narrator put too much anger into the characters. I felt very tense and upset listening to the anger and yelling. I wont be listening to the other two book. I thought maybe I was too critical on the first book but after the second book I am done.
The female lead Savannah was the most unsympathetic character I ever experienced in a Nora Roberts book. She is rude, sarcastic, and really has no likeable characteristics. I kept waiting for this to change, but it never did. I can begin to figure out why a man, that was described like Jared, would ever be attracted to her, other than her looks and prowess in bed.
Absolutely. I love most of her books. This series, especially this book, was very disappointing.
Yes, I listened to many of his books and they are usually good. The disappointment in this book was Savannah's southern accent. It was awful.
Disappointment at the overall quality and total disbelief in why did Jared fall for Savannah.
I loved the first book and the narrator. But on this book his female southern accent really spoiled it for me. I jumped ahead because of this. As always Nora writes a warm, beautiful love story but this was not one of her best.
The detail descriptions of bringing the story to life.
Yes, Enjoyed it.
Laugh...I love the cat and mouse game between Savannah & Jared as well as the development of the boys
The mackade quartet ranks in the top 3.i can't say I prefer 1 above another.they all have the feel good factor. I keep going back to all 4,
