Publisher's summary

Divorce attorney Blair Hansen is convinced that marriage should be based on practicality, not passion. But as her own wedding approaches, she finds herself remembering her law school boyfriend, the only man she's ever loved, and regretting what might have been.

Garrett Lowry is a divorce attorney who's ready to settle down. The problem is that he can't find a woman who suits him nearly as well as the one he loved and lost. He broke her heart by playing the field after their breakup - something he's always regretted. But after months of pining for Blair, Garrett stumbles across her in a freak coincidence, and then destiny keeps throwing them together. He's convinced it's a sign that they should give their love a second chance. Can Garrett convince Blair that a player once isn't a player forever and that happy endings aren't just for dreamers?

Blaire and Garret's second chance

The second in the series and I am still engaged in the series. This is a good continuation of the first book in the series, new characters are introduced along with the characters from the first. The two sisters are sadly funny and have a true sibling rivalry that has been passed on to their sons. And in this one both grandma's are hilarious.

Hope this becomes a movie!

This might be my favorite one out of the series. Blair’s character honestly annoyed me in the first book about Megan & Josh, and even some in this book. But I was still hooked. And chuckled out loud a few times. I’d buy this movie for sure if they ever make it into one!

Very fun romantic story

Another great story by this author, part of the trilogy. As always string characters, many unexpected twists and just the right amount of comedy and drama for a contemporary romance. Great narration as well

Funny, mindless romp2!

I enjoyed it. It made me like the character of Blair, which I disliked in the first book of the series. I liked her sense of humor. And another good book with an interesting grandmother.

Another Satisfying Immersion Reading Experience

Another winning story by Denise Grover Swank. I'm not really a romance reader as I prefer mysteries, thrillers, fantasies, satire, and dark tales. But once in a while I need a light and uplifting book to make me smile. And this book certainly did it for me.

I loved the first book, The Substitute, in "The Wedding Pact" series so much that I knew I had to read the second and I'm certainly glad I did. Although this book wasn't as humorous as the first it did have its moments. Denise Grover Swank's writing had me on a roller coaster of emotions from having me laughing to tearing up and then melting my heart moments. Also, there were moments of frustration for some of the stupid choices Blair and Garrett made and only proving that being well educated doesn't always endow you with common sense when you most need it.

Bonus was the inclusion of Blair's friends Libby and Megan from the first book and her friend Megan's mother Nickers (aka: Nicole), her hysterically funny grandmother, and of course the McMillan brothers.

I look forward to reading the third book in the series to see what other antics these three best friends can come up with and I can't wait to see who Libby ends up marrying because I doubt it will be Mitch and suspect her "just a friend" side-kick Noah McMillan is the man who will be stealing her heart and hand in marriage.

P.S. The narrator does a wonderful job on this book as she did on the first. She really pulls me into the story in these book series.

Hard to like main character

I know you are supposed to feel bad for the main character but about half way through this story I was sick of how mean she was to everyone who cared for her. She was really a bitch! And while I finished it and enjoyed so much if the story, I found myself rolling my eyes every time Blair’s parts were coming up.
