The last thing event planner Tara Lincoln needs is the jet-set lifestyle of a football pro like Mick Riley, even though their steamy and passionate one-night stand proved that Mick is an all-star - both on the field and in the bedroom.
Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and she doesn't intend to put herself out there again, especially with a certified heartbreaker. But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind to catch this sultry vixen.

"In the hands of the talented Burton, the characters leap off the page and the romance sparkles as the sex sizzles." (Romantic Times)
Say something about yourself!
Um... YES!! I listened in almost one sitting!! I had to turn it off because I couldn't stay awake anymore :) I didn't want to miss anything!
Being a mother myself, I can put myself in Tarah's shoes. Her son means everything to her and she wars with herself about being completely devoted to him or to allow herself happiness for the first time in her life.
Lucy told an amazing story! You know who she is at every point, there is no confusion about who is speaking. I just got lost in the story, not in trying to figure what she was doing right or wrong.
It did make me a little teary at several points.
TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!! Story line was good, but lost ALL the romance w/the Frequent use of the "F---" word! At least try to be subtle! Couldn't even listen past the second or third chapter...won't want to try any more of her books! 🙄 Jeez Louise!!!
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
While I'm not much of a football fan, I really liked the character of Mick, an NFL player who was strong, sexy and actually liked & respected the female gender.
When he meets Tara, a single mother too busy to date, Mick slowly wins her over with charm, thoughtfulness and a great body - no sexual domination or bullying involved. There is explicit sex, but nothing degrading or violent.
As this is my first book by Jaci Burton, I hope the rest of this series is fun & light; I am so tired books about selfish, sadist men who enjoy hurting the women they "love".
I enjoyed Lucy Malone's performance. She really got into the strong female characters. Speaking as Liz is my favorite. Lucy gets some real sass going when Liz is up.
I have no idea right now. I enjoyed this story. It's a love story and of course it has a happily ever after. It also comes with a real unmarried single mother that takes parenthood seriously and shows it with her actions and decisions.
I enjoyed this performance. I think it is one of her best. I love when she brings the sass.
Don't piss off a momma bear.
Jaci Burton has such incredible talent. With this story, you get hours of love story and roller coaster. Will they, won't they? I enjoyed every minute of the ride. I was thrilled with the ending and it left me with a smile all day. That's all I can ask.
4 1/2 STARS!
Why, oh why did I wait so long to read Jaci Burton's Play by Play series? WHY? The covers . . . *dies* The sex . . . *shudders* It's a double whammy!
I loved Mick and Tara, they were amazing together -- in bed and out! :D The sex was off the charts, of course, but these two had great chemistry outside of the bedroom, and more importantly they had a real connection.
Mick is quite the dreamy hero. Sexy, caring, strong . . . I loved him. *happy sigh*
Tara is also a strong heroine; I really liked her and could easily see having her as a friend.
And Nathan was great, too. I'm not always a fan of children (or, in this case, teens) in romance novels, but I had no issue with Nathan.
All in all, I loved this book and will be coming back for more!
I can't say the narrator was my favorite, but she wasn't bad. I'd put her performance at about average, say 3 1/2 stars.
The story gets a solid 4 1/2 stars.
I loved the Narrator of this book I wouldn't have chosen a better one.
Yes, but probably to only the friends with relationship issues. It may have been a bit boring book, but I feel it had some good lessons on relationships.
Hmm.. Can't decide on a favorite scene..
hmm. Yes. The Kid when he spook up to the mom and acted smart.
hmm. In this book I was hoping for something more, something interesting to happen. all this book was, was about two people getting together and working on their relationship, and the two of them having a lot of sex. To me personally there didn't seem to be much of a plot or a climax to this book, unless you speak about a certain girl trying to break them up. which seemed more like a small hill, or maybe a bit of rising action.
So I believe there could have been more to it, and it certainly wasn't worth the price I payed, but still it had a way to keep you interested until the last page.
If you are looking for a steamy book...this is a decent one.

Missouri Mom with lots of Opinions! Love to listen to Audio Book Series!
This romantic and funny book takes you on an adventure with football quarterback Mick Riley. I am a huge football fan, so I enjoyed that side of this story.
Mick's love interest, Tara is a strong female character that I could relate to. No matter what the odds, she prevails. I can't say enough positive things about Tara's character.
Although I was not a huge fan of Lucy Malone's narration for this book, it did not take anything away from the story.
I didn't want to stop listening. This is the first book of Jaci Burton's that I have listened to and this story and has left me wanting more. I will be purchasing additional audio's of this series.
