Publisher's Summary

What if the perfect match is a perfect surprise?

Honor Holland has just been unceremoniously rejected by her lifelong crush. And now - a mere three weeks later - Mr. Perfect is engaged to her best friend. But resilient, reliable Honor is going to pick herself up, dust herself off, and get back out there… or she would if dating in Manningsport, New York, population 715, wasn't easier said than done.

Charming, handsome British professor Tom Barlow just wants to do right by his unofficial stepson, Charlie, but his visa is about to expire. Now Tom must either get a green card or leave the States - and leave Charlie behind.

In a moment of impulsiveness, Honor agrees to help Tom with a marriage of convenience - and make her ex jealous in the process. But juggling a fiancé, hiding out from her former best friend, and managing her job at the family vineyard isn't easy. And as sparks start to fly between Honor and Tom, they might discover that their pretend relationship is far too perfect to be anything but true love.

"Another perfect story from Kristan Higgins"

This book was so good I listened to it two times in a row and still loved it! Kristan Higgins writes the best scenes where the heroine is mortified and then digs her out of them. In the Perfect Match, Honor Holland embarrasses herself by showing up at her on-again-off-again lover's house in just her Burberry coat in an attempt to convince him that getting married is a good idea. Of course it doesn't go well and she finds herself single and alone at the age of 35 with no marital prospects in site. A couple weeks later she finds out her best friend is now engaged to that same ex-lover and the two girls get into a cat fight at the local bar. When the opportunity to meet her grandmother's pen pal's nephew arises, she sets up a meeting with him where they don't exactly hit it off. The story gets better and better from there and pretty soon you're totally engrossed in finding out if poor Honor will ever find happiness. I loved the hero of this story - he saves Honor numerous times from danger or humiliation. The part of the story where they found a snake in her grandparents' basement made me laugh hysterically just visualizing the whole scene. If you like romance stories that touch your heart, do yourself a favor and get this book, you'll love it!

"Not as Good as the First Book of the Series"

Amy Rubinate does a fine job of narrating. Unfortunately, Honor just isn't as likeable as her younger sister, Faith, whose story was featured in the first book of the Blue Heron series. I was skeptical about Honor having her own book, since book one did not paint her in a very favorable light. I still didn't much care for her character by the end of this book either. But, If you haven't read the "The Best Man", then you might be more receptive and sympathetic to Honor's situation.

"Check Mate...Game and Match to True Love"

Sometimes our hearts make a wish that seems like the real deal when in reality it is just a connection that may or may not be true friendship. Honor lives up to her name and lives her life with an inner call to doing what is right...above her own needs and the call from her "eggs". I thoroughly enjoyed this novel because its story line wound around so many curves that my interest never waned. Amy Rubinate does a superb job narrating this novel and provides the perfect accents for both the young and old characters as well as Tom's English accent. I also appreciated the touch of humor. I connected to it within my families relationships. Take the time and enjoy a great novel!

    "Loved It 2!!"

Great series--She makes the characters warm, believable. It's a great story. Love books with substance as well as romance. This one fit the bill.

Again, Amy Rubinate makes the story even better--a great narrator.

As a mother of 4 you have a lot of laundry. Audible books made washing a whole lot nicer. Walking isn't as painful either.

"Love KH but this one's just ok"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

The accent that Amy Rubinate trys to do of Tom. It sounds more like
an Australian than a Brit. and Tom's character was hard for me to develop.
By the end of the book I wanted to smack Tom if he said "Mate" one more
time. I would have preferred to read the book.

Would you recommend The Perfect Match to your friends? Why or why not?

Only if they haven't read any other KH books. This was predictable after reading so
many of her books. I recommend KH to many of my friends, however, I'd pass on this
one. Was frustrated by the time I was done.

What three words best describe Amy Rubinate’s performance?

    Not good here.

Do you think The Perfect Match needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. Whatever needed to get wrapped up did and I'm done with Tom.

    Any additional comments?

I love Kristan Higgans. I look for her books and pre-ordered the next in this series.
Hope its better than this one.

"Very Good Family Drama with Romance - book 2"

I enjoyed this second book in the Blue Heron series, which I find to be a low-key and humorous drama involving family, friends, dogs and lovers. Escape to a small town with vineyards, quirky residents and normal squabbling! No graphic sex; no terrorists or serial killers, just an engrossing story - perfect with a glass of wine and comfy couch.

    "Not for me...."
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book wasn't for me and I didn't listen to the complete book. It has language and sex scenes which are not my reading preference. Not the writers fault - I just don't enjoy them.

Would you be willing to try another one of Amy Rubinate’s performances?

    Not sure...
