Lexy Newberry knows she's adopted, but someone forgot to mention her birth parents are 16th-century monarchs who sent her to the future to escape certain slaughter. Now Lexy is back in the past, charged with reclaiming her homeland. She's not the normal storybook princess, but Lord Lukas Reynard, the nobleman enlisted to help her, isn't a charming prince either. As her feelings for Lukas grow, she becomes torn between the place she knows in the future and the place she was born to rule in the past. If she leaves the 16th century, she may lose a love she only dreamed of. If she stays, she may lose her life. For Lukas has a secret so shocking, it could topple the hopes of Dresdonia and shatter her heart.

Would not recommend this one. Did not like this reader at all. Story was only OK
Ruined the book
I am a lifelong reader and I enjoy many types of books. My favorites are romance, historical fiction, and a little sci-fi thrown in.
I would recommend the book to read. It was a good story and I enjoyed not only the story of a girl from the present going to the past, but also the character's unfailing faith in God.
It was a wonderful love story.
She used a monotone the whole time. The sentences just blended together. It was difficult to understand when characters changed. Also, a girl from Dallas, TX would not have a British accent!
"Should be no stars"
The cover suggests romantic romp and the description promises a journey into history. This happens to be my favorite type of book so when I listened to the voice and realised she talked irritatingly too quick I thought I could forgive. How they employed someone to narrate this bad I do not understand. How the author managed to get it produced I do not understand and how the summary did not include this book actually has no historical facts or attempt at any research along with a religious lecture underpinning I do not understand. I could not even fall asleep with the boredom because the narration was so bad.
