This is an erotic romance, intended for listeners 17 years and older. Aspects of BDSM.
"Ti amo, mia cara".
The fine art of persuasion. Darius Rourke and his burning passion for a woman. The gentle Marianne... as beautiful as she is mysterious. When presented with an opportunity to make her his bride, Darius takes it, and knows Marianne will finally belong only to him. Or will she? Marianne carries a secret. Something she believes will prevent her from ever being worthy to be loved by any man - even the masterful Darius, despite the fact he captivates her utterly.
A look... A caress... A kiss... A brooding sensuality. A lushly passionate tale of lovers entangled in the discovery of each other's sins and secrets. As Darius and Marianne embark upon a journey together, they will find that learning to command is just as important as learning to surrender. A man who knows what he wants... A woman who needs him in order to know her worth...

I may be addicted to audiobooks. I love my husband and my kids but I get a chance to escape with the books and be someone else for a while
A beautiful addition to the "Blackstone" books. It's amazing how things over the centuries tie everything and everyone together. The narrators were perfect and played the roles wonderfully. This is a must read if you listen to any of the other books by Raine... she is truly talented!!!
Definitely. I loved this audio, everything about it. The voices, the story and the characters.
The voices and the ability to make me feel so many emotions.
Emotions and more depth to the characters. The accent too.
A beautiful story of redemption
Ya, this was one of those books...nothing special. All my books are starting to read the same for some reason. Come on, all of you potential earth changing as we know it, authors...rally your vocabularies :). Readers are hungry. Give us something with substance... Give us something we can really sink our teeth into. Move us!
This is the first audio book I have listened to. I liked the voices of both of the readers; Shane East and India Baldwin. I also liked how the characters were, which is what made this story the most enjoyable.
What I liked best about the story is how much alike my characteristics are to the heroine of the story. Not by physical description, but by personality. And I really liked how the hero of the story, Darius, is the kind of guy I would want to be with. His personality is so sweet.
I enjoy the depth that Shane East and India Baldwin bring to the characters, particularly Shane East. His voice was pleasant to the ear, and made me believe he was this character. India Baldwin was also very good at portraying the personality of her character. I appreciated that she played the part believably.
I ended up getting this book for free through an Audibles deal and did not realize until after I had purchased it that there is BDSM in this story. I'm not a fan of BDSM, but was very pleasantly surprised to find that it was so mild that I didn't even know it was BDSM.
Also, I didn't realize how close to home those characters are. I'm not used to reading a heroine character that is a lot like me, and I am not used to reading about a hero character being a lot like the man I want to be with.
Overall, I loved the book, and most especially the audio version because the voices of both India Baldwin and Shane East portray the characters so well.
It would be wonderful if the actress always spoke the heroine's lines and the actor always spoke the hero's lines. Those were the only jarring, and sometimes laughable, moments that pulled me out of the story to consider how the actress/actor felt in real life saying these lines without laughing or becoming possibly nervous.
Abibliophobia. I suffer from it and I'm sure many others on this site feel the same. I love to read, I love to listen even more.
I would have to say the moments that reminded me of all the characters from the Blackstone affair were especially endearing. I am a fan. In the end the plot was like many other romances I've read. . . but in the end as a fan the story satisfied me.
I have loved Raine Millers work from the first. So sad this was a stale cracker. I actually was happy when it ended. Shane East is a 10 stars of 5. He is exellent and carries the story well. India Bldwin receives a 4.
I look forward to more Raine hopfully with some spice and surprise.
