"Witty dialogue and bawdy, eccentric characters add up to an engaging, fan-pleasing story." (Publishers Weekly)
"Not much history, but plenty of romance: Coulter fans will love this frothy, sexy fairy tale." (Booklist)
I have never read a Coulter book that I didnt love and this one is just as amazing as the rest. It is amazing how she can write books in the past and present and make them all so very interesting and make you anxious for the next book. This is a lady that has one of the greatest imaginations in the field of romance and suspense she can intertwine both and make history interesting. I am always ready for her next book. I read or listen to them and cant wait for the book to finally end but then find I am dissapointed the book is over this is why I love her books cause when you finish one there is usually a sequal waiting for me to continue with the story. Thanks Catherine for sharing your gift with us. I listen to the books on my 1 hour drive to and from work it is an hour each way and this makes my trip go so quickly that I dont realize how long it takes me to get to work or home from work. And I never have to worry about falling asleep, The story always has me interested enough to stay awake and almost regret when I arrive at my destination, There is not a better way to make a long trip seem short. Thanks to Audible for making these audio books available at the great prices. I am in sales and often tell people that I speak to about the great deals that audible has on audiobooks. I have sent lots of business people to audible especially when they tell me that they travel a lot. Once again thanks to Catherine and Audible for making my trips to and from work so enjoyable. You are great both of you.
In the Legacy series, I like the Nightingale story more than I actually did the first story. The hero and heroine as characters are robustly written as are some of the other supporting characters. The audio reader did a very good job but for the first time in an audible download there was some recording degregation. I heard background noise that was distracting but, the story and the reading were entertaining. So 5 stars for a regency romance and an audio performance, 1 star for the production team and sound editor.

I love her stories. However, I could have lived without the treasure hunting. Yet, it is only a story, and performed it's purpose of entertaining me well.
The narrator's voice is easy to listen to. If you like her books, you will like this one.
I really like the different story line that this series takes. There's not only a murder mystery but also a treasure hunt mystery, if you will. It was a fun read.
I love audiobooks. They are so convenient.
Overall the story was great. I am big Catherine Coulter fan. Loved the Wyndham Legacy trilogy when I read the hardcover books some years ago. I am also a very big SHERBROOKE series fan also.
I will not say the book was awful, but I do not think that the narrator was right for this book. I wish the publishers who decided to put this into audio format would have used Kate Reading, Rosalind Landor, or Anne Flosnik.(though I am not always crazy about her.) They are my top narrators for the Regency era books.
The narrator wasn't awful, but I think she would slip once in a while and forget to use he accent. She also sounded as though she were in some kind race and had to finish it quickly. She was a bit to jaunty, and just sounded a bit too modern and American for the Regency Period love stories.
The book is enjoyable, entertaining and fun.
I couldn't chose a favorite, but there is a trio of male servants that are fun to keep up with while they try to rid Mount Hawke of unwanted females.
She is soft spoken and still puts energy into the books. The only thing that would have made it better is if the males had more manly voices.
I laughed at several places, and there is a section that brought me to tears. This books hits all emotions all across the board. You hate the villain, love the right characters and constantly want to keep listening to see what is going to happen next.
Out of the Legacy Series, The Nightingale Legacy is may favorite. I love how the characters come in from the first book and become a part of this one. Honestly, I am not a big fan of Catherine Coulter, but out of the books I have read and listened to this one is the BEST hands down!
This book is light but good listening for a raining afternoon.
Unfortunately the reader's rendition of the male voices sounded female which made any and all of the reading of the interaction between male and female hard to follow.
