A need colder than Siberian winter meets an attitude hotter than the Florida sun in number-one New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole's sultry new Game Maker novel.
Everyone fears the master...
Rich, irresistible politician/Mafiya boss Maksimilian Sevastyan prefers tall, obedient blondes to fulfill his...complicated desires. That is until the icy Russian encounters a disobedient brunette whose exquisite little body threatens his legendary restraint.
Catarina Marín was a well-off young wife until her world fell apart. Now she's hiding out, forced to start working as an escort in Miami. Her very first client is beyond gorgeous, but when he tells her what he plans to do to her, Cat almost walks out of the door.
If pleasure is a game, play to win.
After their mind-blowing encounter burns out of control, the lovers crave more. If they escape the deadly threats surrounding them, can Maksim overcome his past--to offer Cat his future? Only then will she tempt him with what he really wants: her, all tied up with a bow.

Audible Addict!!! My Favorite books have change since joining Audible and my taste for erotic has enhanced! Follow me to the dark side. ;)
The narration was excellent and so funny. This is one of my got to books. I listen to it at least once a month because I loved every aspect. You are on the edge of your seat from the first word. Rich Russian with a huge ego find his sexy little mommyyy. I want more like this one. Narrator rocked every sentence.
The narrator was amazing and the descriptive way the author wrote made you visualize everything! HOT HOT HOT!
All of the very racey sex scenes. (LOT's of them)
Maxim and Kat I loved Kat's personality.
Where do I start? Jesus..... smh....
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
Admittedly Kresley Cole is my favorite author, so when this book became available I immediately dove in to this sinful and erotic tale. I don’t really enjoy BDSM stories (the market is saturated now) but I loved “The Professional” so this was a must listen for me. WOW! I think my iPhone almost melted with this one. This was a hot and steamy listen with tons and tons of sex. Fortunately it wasn’t the repetitive kind or sex just for the sake of sex on paper. It was part of the story and nothing was too over the top (at least for a super erotic Russian mafia fantasy). I absolutely love Ms. Cole’s writing and this one did not disappoint.
On a side note, I’m thrilled the publishers released this as a complete book and not in the serial format like The Professional. This moved the listen up to a solid 5 stars.
Say something about yourself!
When The Professional, book 1, first came out in 3 different parts I said no freaking way I am NOT getting 3 books for $4 and change each, that's WHY I have credits so I don't have to deal with things like that....then book 2 came out and I said well, since it's all together why not try it....holy crud!!!!!!!!!!!!
Murder, mafia, mayhem, hot, HOT, HOTTTTTTT scenes....alpha male, distressed female that still has a wicked backbone and yummy yummy scenes!!! WOW just wow, next book is an instant download, FOR SURE!
Now I have to break my promise to myself and *gulp* pay for that 3 part book because although this one is a decent stand alone hearing what happened in that first book makes me want to listen to it SOOO bad!
Guess what, the hype is real, and this book is totally worth it on every level!
Narrator....sigh....I really liked all the different voices, she portrayed the different characters wonderfully but I had to take off a star because the Spanish speaking leading lady sounded Russian, not Hispanic, but other than that totally awesome narration!
Reviewing Romance & Urban Fantasy
Whether it’s YA, Paranormal Romance or Erotica Romance, Kresley Cole never fails to bring her A game. I’ve come to expect 100% Guarantee satisfaction when it has the name Cole attached to it.
Pretty Woman, Kresley Cole style.
Catarina (Cat) is down on her luck and on the run from her husband. She never stays in one place longer than six months. Why? because her husband, Edwards wants to kill her.
Maksimilian is a million/billionaire (depending on how the market is doing that day) Russian mob boss and brother to Aleksandr (hero from book 1, The Professional). Mak is not quite as scary as Aleksandr but he can still command a room and is feared.
Now here comes the Pretty Woman part. Cat and Mak meet when she comes to his hotel room (ah the penthouse FLOOR! not room) to be his escort for the night. Cat is not a career girl, she’s filling in for her friend that’s the true escort. Mak is Cat’s first and only client. Her six months in Miami is almost up and she needs some fast cash to get her out-of-town before Edward finds her.
After their first night together they can can’t the other one out of their mind. After being drawn back to each other the couple go through a wild ride both sexually and emotionally.
Often! And hot. I think there was even more sex in The Master than there was in The Professional. I’m not complaining! Seriously Mak and Cat have dirty, sweaty week marathon within their two weeks together. It ranges from light kinky like spanking to forced orgasm, nipple claps and oh and let’s not forget the chastity belt.
The Master is not use a sex filled romp. There’s may emotions involved from lust, love, fear and heartbreak and I felt every one of them while listening. Both Mak and Cat have a sad past and it loved how Cole let their stories unfold through the plot.
I’ve listened to all of Kresley Cole’s books that are available on audio and she has been blessed by the narrator gods with great narrators. Kimberly Alexis continues to deliver a great performance for the Game Maker series. I love her Russian accents but I had a little problem with her Spanish accent for Cat. There were a few times it seemed to morph into her Russian accent. But as a whole Alexis’ performance was on point and very enjoyable.
I’m so glad that The Master was not released in serial format! Bring on Dimitri’s book and I have all my fingers and toes crossed that his heroine will be Jess!
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Well she's done it again.... KC has delivered yet another book which I knew, right from Chapter 1, that I'd find it very hard to hit the pause button and nearly impossible hit the stop button. When Maxim, a sexy powerful Russian Billionaire, opens the door to greet the tall blonde Call Girl he's booked, he finds a petite curvy brunette named Cat instead. He doesn't realise just what a feisty firecracker he is about to let into his apartment, and his life, and she is going to rock his world. But Cat's got secrets, she has to leave town quickly and needs money to do it which forces her at the Russian's door but when the "DDG" (drop dead gorgeous - Cat's words) client opens the door her job suddenly becomes a lot more appealing and she can't wait to 'clock on'.
However, there was a clash of personalities as Maxim tried to dictate the terms and the 'encounter' but Cat changed all the rules..... and he loved it but wouldn't let his guard down. So they started a very erotic game of cat and mouse each trying to control and find out facts about one another which was amusing, sensual, with hours of hot sex (including BDSM and toys) and lots of dirty talk. It's also funny, tender, touching and romantic but sometimes there's friction too as they slowly try to trust each other..... but time's running out for Cat when her past finally catches up with her there's going to be bloody and deadly consequences.
Told from Cat's POV, the narrator did a great job with the Russian accents and we catch up with Aleksei 'The Siberian' and Natalie too.
Worth a credit? Kresley Cole is an auto download for me because she writes such an entertaining book with loveable, yet vulnerable, characters and her stories are always a pleasure to listen to. So, YES absolutely a creditworthy five star listen.
Fiction: I like Paranormal, Young Adult, Historical, Fantasy, Romance, Classics. Non-Fiction: I like Historical, Military, Memoirs.
The Master was good, but not Kresley Cole's best. I love Kresley Cole...I will download anything she releases. She is a good writer who can tell a good story and creates interesting, funny characters. However, I didn't like The Master as much as I liked The Professional.
The format (a complete, single release rather than a three-part serial) is a HUGE improvement over The Professional, and I liked Cat and Maksim's story, but the sex wasn't as exciting as in the last book. It was a lot of the same sex, without a lot of variety. (Oh look, they're f*&%ing again.) It almost got monotonous and it started right off the bat, without much lead-in to the story. Also, kidnapping is sociopathic behaviour and I didn't find that sexy at all. It brought me right out the story. Points docked for that.
Despite all of that, I did like The Master. It wasn't as kinky as The Professional, which can either be a good thing or bad thing, depending on your preferences, but it was *muy caliente* (I do wish that we could ban the phrase "goody trail" though). I loved that Natalie and Aleksandr made appearances and it looks like KC is possibly setting up Dimitri's story line for the next book. Yay!
Kimberly Alexis, once again, was fantastic as the main female character. She narrated the story and gave voice to Cat with near perfection. She is a fantastic narrator. As with The Professional, however, I did not like her Russian accents as much. Something about her accent had me thinking "Boris and Natasha" rather than sexy Siberian billionaire. Minor complaint and I was usually able to look past it.
One more thing...even though I said this wasn't my favourite Kresley Cole book, if you're a Kresley Cole fan but the BDSM in The Professional wasn't your style, give The Master a try. KC has managed to write erotica that is sexy, smart and funny, without the cheesiness of your typical soft-core porn paperback.
Say something about yourself!
I am not into the DBSM thing but I enjoyed this book anyway due to the intensity that Kresley Cole is able to develop between here main characters.
