Publisher's summary

Carina Conte has had a crush on her brother Michael’s best friend, Max Gray, since she was a teenager back home in Italy. Now she’s earned her MBA and come to work at Michael’s new venture, America’s fastest-growing bakery empire. But some things never change: Her overprotective family still treats her like a child. With three drop-dead gorgeous siblings, she’s still the ugly duckling of the bunch. And Max, the company’s new CEO, still barely notices her.

Max knows Carina Conte is strictly off-limits, for the sake of his job and his friendship with Michael. But hot-blooded lust wins out at a conference when the two share a scorching one-night stand - and are busted by her mother! Now, forced by old-world Italian tradition into a marriage he’s not ready for, Max is miserable - and Carina is furious. Her new husband is about to realize that hell hath no fury like a woman transformed....

This series is quickly becoming my guilty pleasure

Well, she did it again....another easy listening (simple) romance story that I really enjoyed. Much like the first two books, it's a little unbelievable and completely predictable but I can't help but like this series. So far this one was my favorite. If you like book 1 or book 2 then you will enjoy this one too.
Again, the narrator is great and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

D.........LISH......OUS

Ask yourself - what do you want from romance novels? Great characters that are involved in believable plots, passionate romances, some touching sexy love scenes and happy endings - right?

Well this book, and previous ones in the series, not only delivers the right criteria but delivers them by the bucket full. It could be a stand alone listen but there are references to other members of the family that the spell book has worked for and those characters all make their occasional appearances too.

Worth a credit? If you're a romance lover, want happy endings and are looking for a great listen to get lost in - then this book (along with the whole series) is an absolute MUST.

Nice Light Hearted Romance Novel

This is the last book in the series and seriously I wish Ms. Probst would continue the series. Sawyer anyone??? Hint, hint! I really like the way her books work out the problems, there are no quick fixes. Just read them all and start with the first book, The Marriage Bargain.
Madeleine Maby did an outstanding job with the narration.

Am I Listening to the Same Book?

Now let me say, I really loved The Marriage Bargan so I know Jennifer Probst writing is excellent.

Perhaps my experience with this novel would have been better without the awful narration. Unfortuantely,I couldn't even get through the story. The narrator soundsl like she's reading with strange pauses in between and very little inflection. I think if I had read the book rather than listened to it, I would have had a much better opinion.

Great listen!! Better then the other of the series

I've enjoyed the first one on the series, but this one for me was even better, very funny, sizzling interactions.
Loved the inner doubts of the main female character, although at the end it was a bit too much insecurity for my taste. But overall a great listen good story and the narrator did a pretty good job.
Give it a try

Entertaining Series Worth the Credits

Engaging relationships and liked the overlap of characters in each successive book. A bit of plot redundancy in books 1 & 2 with "fake" marriages. Humor in sexually charged scenes will have you smiling if not laughing--overall sexual dynamics get better in each book. Would love to read more by this author--narrator of 2nd book the best, 3rd narrator the worst.

Great Great... Very Very Sexy!!!

I loved this book. I really like the first two book. This one did not disappoint. Micheal sister really grew up. I like how this book showed how Catlina grew up from child to woman and knew her mind. I love the fact that there was real smex in this book. However, the only thing I didn't like was after Max and Catlina got married, they kinda just accepted it... There should have been a bit more struggle of them getting married. Especially with the family, like Micheal accepting the marriage, but it was still a great book. I wonder if there will be another one....

OOPS! Read this for Marriage Merger

I did my review for this book on the wrong book: Wow - #2 and 3 in this series are devoted to exasperating and unlikely female characters. I only read this one to get to the fourth, and well, the hot scenes are well done.

BUT the Marriage Merger is the best of the series. Characters with more depth and that you can actually like!

Not my favorite in the series but still a good rea

Would you listen to The Marriage Mistake again? Why?

No and that's simply because I can never go back and listen to a book again. I'm not sure why and I know most people do but I just can't. To me, listening to a book is all about the surprise of what's next so repetitive listening to me would be boring.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Marriage Mistake?

When the mother caught them in the hotel room. The mother's response was rather interesting and I didn't see that coming.

What does Madeleine Maby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The Italian accent she used irritated me at first because I couldn't help but imagining Carina as this big boobed bimbo which did not mesh with the writer’s portrayal of this smart, educated, sophisticated woman. A little while into the book I started to enjoy it and it made me feel like I was actually listening to some crazy Italians.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have but I didn't have a NEED to listen to it in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed how Carina matured and found herself by the end of the book.
