They called him The Priest. Maybe because of his billowing black robes and the steel crucifix that hung around his neck. Or perhaps it was because those who met him were compelled to pray. But Duncan Mackay was anything but a saint. He was a sinner-a paid mercenary. Until he met her and she made him want to change his ways.
Lady Heather Sutherland has never been compelled to follow rules. And this time, she's gone too far. Following in the footsteps of her brothers and cousins, she chooses to join the fight for Scottish freedom - and gets herself abducted by a handsome rogue warrior, whose touch is sweet sin.
Duncan's duty was clear-steal Heather away from Dunrobin Castle. What he didn't expect was to be charmed by her spirit and rocked by her fiery kiss. Now he doesn't want to deliver her to those who hired him - he wants to keep her all to himself.

This was book 6 of one of the best series I've read. I hope there is a book 7. It had action, suspense, excitement and romance. I couldn't put it down. It tied in with the characters from the other books, and I loved them all. On top of all that the narrator did a great job, I especially like her voice for William Wallace.
This story could have been told in 3 or 4 hours. It just dragged on and on until three quarters of the way thru it, a story finally surfaced.
I love Epic Fantasy....have become a Historical Romance fan because I am a sucker for a good Happily Ever After. Good characters are a must
i enjoyed this book again way more than the first four. It was just as good as the fifth. I really liked the chemistry between Duncan and Heather. Heather is a great character...Duncan is good...but he wasn't my favorite male of the series. The dialogue is great between them. Again I'm glad I didn't give up on the series...this one is one of the better listens in the series.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Little did Heather know when she knelt praying forgiveness that she was about to be kidnapped by The Priest and that her dreams of adventure and excitement are about to come true in the arms of the rugged handsome Highlander who's about to sweep her off her feet (lucky girl).
I do love a Highlander, fighting for what's right at any cost, protecting what's his and duty and honor is everything but for Duncan those lines were blurred when he was a boy and the only survivor of a massacre. Now he's fulfilling another Mission for coin and revenge but he's about to meet a spitfire who will shake and change his world.
Worth a credit? Yes definitely, it's enjoyable, funny, exciting with sizzling chemistry, romance and sex scenes and her brothers are in pursuit, thieves, a near drowning, fighting, a trap and a drool-worthy kilt wearing Alpha Highlander so it has it all for any Highlander groupie (even an appearance by William Wallace).
