Narrator better than the book

Its a good book even though Max is over the top with control issues at times.

Loved it

Gut wrenchingly beautiful, felt the pain, the love and the happiness. Would listen to it again.

Dragged a bit. Overall I liked this book. The lead female was strong. I felt the author may not have been hurt in her life before though, both books (I listened to sweet dreams as well) the women get hurt and it's suppose to be bad... Then they are like... all good. It was odd, but if you ignored it then you were fine. Her lead male characters border on being too alpha (controlling and smothering right away). After these two I don't think I'll listen to another of hers though.

What made the experience of listening to The Gamble the most enjoyable?

The narration is excellent. Variety of characters, all most interesting.

Have you listened to any of Emma Taylor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Emma Taylor also narrated Ms. Ashley's "Breathe" and "Sweet Dreams", also good reads. She's easy to listen to, makes it easy to know which character is speaking, and expresses their emotions believably.

Kristen Ashley has a very distinct dialog style a pleasure to listen to (I don't care to read novels written in first person, but do enjoy listening to same). This creation was most enjoyable, didn't want to stop listening.

Good story but lots of repetition

This story pulled me through all of the emotions... including annoyance at times. The way the women often have nothing interesting to add to the conversation so they just keep saying their love interest’s name. Over and over. It got to the point where I had to stop the book and come back later. Other than that I really enjoyed the book. The narrator was awesome.

One of Kristen Ashley’s best.

This is one of my top 5 favorite books by Kristen Ashley. I love the story. I love the characters. I love the narrator.

Pretty Good but kind of cheesy

It was a cheesy story line, but I found myself still wanting to listen. A few eye rolls, but overall pretty good.

Nina and Max

This is a fun story and I hated for it to end. I liked the characters and the narration was very good.

Writing this review after I read 4 in the series.

I have to say that this book is really good. It is long but not full of nothing. It keeps your interest and it was a funny and good story that grabs you. Sweet Dreams is not that good. I would pass on that one. Lady Luck, which is next in line is okay. Get it on sale if possible and you won't waste a credit.
"BREATHE" is FANTASTIC!!!!! Credit worthy, great characters, funny, makes you cry, it's very emotional at times also. This narrator can do anything. I love how she handles the male, female, old man, older women voice. Wonderful!! Don't miss this one and BREATHE. I think I'll give the rest of them a try also.

Fully enjoyed this book

This was a sweet romance book. I enjoyed it so much that I'm looking forward to reading the next. Kristen Ashley is a marvelous story teller, she makes you want to know the main character, Nina and pull her into your own life as you own best friend. Emma Taylor was absolutely fabulous to listen to, maybe one of my favorite narrators.
