The Future of Our Past is the first book in The Remembrance Trilogy, a transcendent love story about the type of powerful and passionate connection we all dream of.

Well there are a few things about this book I loved, but what I enjoyed most was the totally romantic love story. Though sappy at times, it was a refreshing aproach to a story that is smoking hot. Ryan and Julia are just perfect for one another; perhaps a little too perfect at times, but I didn't mind.
I can't really think of a comparison, but the premise is not at all original; it's just that the chemistry between the two main characters in this book made it unique for me.
The naration is another thing about this book that I loved. Both narators were excellent, and dual narators is always better with two point of views, but I loved the fact that no matter the point of view, the male voices were don by Blake Richard, and the female voices were done by Liona Gem. I have never listened to a naration like this in a romance novel before. Usually the male narator is lacking with the female voices, or vice versa, so this was a real treat. It made the entire book play out like a movie.
I think the author was great, but I do want to warn this book ends with sort of a cliffhanger, so you may want to wait for the next one to buy. Definitly worth a credit.
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
This is a book I think I would have loved more if it wasn’t for all the sugary sweet dialogue. It started out great and I liked the idea of best friends falling in love and trying to make a long distance relationship work. I understand the desire and longing to be together. However, all the declarations of love were just a bit over the top and a little too sickly sweet for me.
Admittedly, I am a total romance junkie but this one was just too hard for me to swallow. Besides all the over-the-top dialogue there was no real plot. I kept waiting for something to actually happen. It wasn’t until the end (and the huge cliffhanger) that something finally did happen. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough to save this book.
On the plus side, the chemistry between these two characters is off the charts and they had some very steamy sex. I really enjoyed the narration as well. All male parts were read by Blake Richard and all the female parts were read by Liona Gem. It was very unique and I thought it added to the overall listening experience.
I'm proud to be a bookaholic...addicted, obsessed, passionate!!! My favorite way to relax & escape reality....
The Future Of Our Past takes you into the lives of two people (Ryan and Julia), they have secretly loved each other since the very first moment they set eyes on one another. This book follows their lives, starting with their devoted friendship, their inner struggle to give into the love they feel, and finally thru their romantic relationship as it grows. We watch Ryan and Julia's journey over four years, as he works his way through medical school, she becomes a fashion magazine editor and they work hard at their long distant relationship. At times, obstacles get thrown in the way making life more difficult for them. The characters are well written and the romance is extremely steamy, but the declarations of love (and there are LOTS of them) do get a little repetitive. This story can get very sappy, almost boiling over with sickly sweetness. The dialogue between the two main characters is almost too freaking sugary sweet. Ryan and Julia were SO mushy. I was becoming a bit exasperated with all the 'I love you's' and 'No I love you more's'. We get it!! But if you like that sort of thing, this book is definitely for you. If you are looking for a lovey dovey story with LOTS of SEX than again this is the book for you. This book has a crazy cliffhanger & does make your heart ache towards the end. Overall, a tender mushy love story for all the hopeless romantics.
I am going back to a suspense novel. The dialogue was way too sappy for me and I don't believe very realistic. I want to be spoken to affectionately but this was nauseating!
It was a decent story just drawn out way too long with the "i miss you my love" , "why did we wait so long my love", "you are so beautiful my love"......gag
The dialogue is so sappy I can't bring myself to read book two and find out what happens to Julia.
This story started out good, dragged through the middle then got really good at the end so even though it got a little irritating in the middle I find myself looking forward to book 2. It's about a couple who carries on with a long distance relationship for several years and how they make it work. At times I got irritated with the F because she talked about how much she loved M but didn't seem to act like it until the end and the M talked about it so much he got a little whiny.
The narrators did an ok job. Female better than male. I can't decide if the male character in the book was a little wimpy at times or if it was just the male narrator. Sorry, Blake. Always need a strong male in any romance book. It's a rule!
In the end, it still held my attention and I am looking forward to book 2. Go figure!
Two best friends finally coming together as lovers were very hot and intense. This is a true love story about best friends finally admitting their love for each. It ranks high among other love stories I've read.
Ryan and Julia were equally well defined characters giving us a clear picture of who they are and how they looked.
Two very excellent narrators.
It ends at a very important point in the story leaving me frustrated for more. I hope the continuing trilogy is ready in the immediate future.
I have never felt such a connection, emotion or desperation for a literary couple in all my life. I'm truly in love with this pair. LOL - I can't wait to get the kids tucked into bed, so I can continue with R&J's beautiful, heart wrenching love story!
I wish the other two were available. I have problems reading and am addicted to audiobooks. I have read the synopsis of the other two books and am anxiously awaiting the audiobooks. It is great to have books with less than perfect everything in the characters. Flaws that all have can be overcome!
Love Romantic Erotica with a twist , thrill, suspense and a great story !
Story was boring, too much mushy, love you's, beautiful, perfect, blah blah blah. Just not my kind of passion. The story drug on and on....male narration left alot to be desired.
And of course ...the end leaves you hanging, wondering what the heck .....not exactly sure if I will get the next book , whenever it comes out.
yes, the story was perfect
when they realized that they were in love
i love both of the main characters and the performers were awesome
i cant wait for audible to get the last 2 books
