Publisher's summary

Lady Eleanor Ramsay is the only one who knows the truth about Hart Mackenzie. Once his fiancée, she is the sole woman to whom he could ever pour out his heart. Hart has it all - a dukedom, wealth, power, influence, whatever he desires. Every woman wants him - his seductive skills are legendary. But Hart has sacrificed much to keep his brothers safe, first from their brutal father, and then from the world. He's also suffered loss: his wife, his infant son, and the woman he loved with all his heart, though he realized it too late.

Now Eleanor has reappeared on Hart's doorstep, with scandalous nude photographs of Hart taken long ago. Intrigued by the challenge in her blue eyes - and aroused by her charming, no-nonsense determination - Hart wonders if his young love has come to ruin him ... or save him.

Intense!

There is so much going on with this family. This has been such a wonderful and intense book and series. I have thoroughly enjoyed this and every book that precedes it. It is a must read.

Tastefully Erotic and Intriguing

What did you love best about The Duke's Perfect Wife?

El is so strong and doesn't give up but most of all she is as intellegent and adventurous as Hart needed in this lady love . Talk about stand by your man! I jumped to this book after the great #1 as Hart and Ian were so close. I am skipping around in the series, next Sinclare's story as Ms Dawe does wonderful children's voices, then Cam's due to Daniel.
I like the way the author can weave background into the current story without giving away a previous plot. This is a mark of a good series writer/editor.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Duke's Perfect Wife?

When the Duke finds the box.

What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?

I am a huge fan of Ms Dawe both contemporary and her historical voices, none better. See Nora Roberts series MacGregors and her best Tiffney Snow series, WOW

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, as I downloaded the series out of order to see how clever the author could be in telling Hart's story. CLEVER, modern day eroticism woven into a historical period. Author pulled her writing skills altogether to make this a good story.

Any additional comments?

These are not stand alone books, but can easily be listened to out of order. Read the reviews of all the stories if you only want to try 1. Most say Ian's story which is most clever.

Hoping there is another story in this series

I just love the Mackenzies. Again I think Angela Dawe has the perfect narration for 1880s England/Scotland. Harts story did not disappoint and I hope Ms Ashley continues on with Daniels story and Mr Fellows story. I started this series only because the first book sounded unusual, I don't regret it and each story has been equally good. These people have depth and soul.

Excellent Series

I loved this book as much as the others. The narrator is great & the story was perfect. I really enjoyed this entire series and hated to see it end. Too bad there was not another brother to write about. Maybe Daniel the son of Cameron would make a good addition to the series.

The Perfect Wife

As we all know, men can be hard headed when they want to be. Woman can be equally as inquisitive, ruthless, and stubborn. This is an Awesome book with passion, stealth, and love! Excellent read in ebook format or as an audiobook narrated beautifying Angela Dawe. Don't miss the MacKinzie series! 😍

Hart McKenzie's story

My two favorite characters in this series are Hart McKenzie and Ian McKenzie. Ian, the main character in the first book, is quirky and lovable. Hart is strong and holds his family of four brothers together. Any time there are troubles, Hart, the Duke, is there to save the day. The Duke's Perfect Wife is about Hart and his pursuit of Elenor, the woman he was engaged to about 10 years ago. He lost her when his mistress told Elenor of his secret kinky sex life. Hart never got over losing Elenor and he now wants to get her back and marry her. Of course it is not easy.

All of the brothers and their families are in this book, including the illegitimate half brother, Fellows. My main problem with the book is that it is too sappy. Hart is NOT supposed to be sappy - he is supposed to be strong and composed. It is still a pretty good story and the narration is good.

Okay

This was my least favorite book of the series!
maybe it is because my expectation was too high but with Hart proclavities and past history with the heroine, I was expecting hot bookie nookie, a stong heroine who makes him crawl...
but it was not to be

liked it a lot. love love Hart.

Hart is not my fav of the brothers but he is pretty awesome. it was a great read and the romance between he and Eleanor was heartfelt, painful but in the end beautiful. their coming around the 2nd tome was well guided, thanks to Ian, and better than the ant time, for they both grew as individuals and Hart especially had to learn to let things go ..... even through the other brothers stories. a great read over all . on to the next book

The Duke’s Perfect Wife was my favorite in the series. All we’re good but this one and Ian and Beth’s stories were my favorite.
