Publisher's summary

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

Monalisa Devlin is a Will O' The Wisp, a rare and potentially dangerous creature. Unfortunately, her greedy father makes sure she lives up to that potential. Monalisa is magically compelled to obey her father's evil commands - until he finally agrees to free her in exchange for one last mission: travel to Nocturne Falls and use her powers to force Ivan Tsvetkov back into the ring.

Once a champion on the supernatural MMA circuit, Ivan "The Hammer" Tsvetkov retired after a devastating injury that left him unable to shift into his dragon form. Wounded and embittered, Ivan wants nothing more than to be left alone. Until an infuriating, stubborn, delicately beautiful stranger shows up on his doorstep and demands that he rebuild his life.

Posing as a rehab therapist seemed like the easiest way to get close to the smoldering recluse, but Monalisa quickly realizes that nothing about this mission is going to be easy. To gain his trust, she shares more of herself than she ever has before, and as their connection deepens, so does the weight of her secrets. She thought she was willing to do whatever it took to win her independence...but when her deception blows up in her face, will Monalisa discover that the loss of Ivan's heart is too high a price to pay? Or will their love rise from the ashes to burn stronger than ever?

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

IVAN "THE HAMMER" MEETS HIS MATCH!!

The publisher summary is spot on, and this newest addition is among one of my favorites in the series. I LOVED Ivan, the dragon 🐉 aka "The Hammer"! He was big, looked dangerous, but underneath all his tough exterior, he really was a fun loving person. I've listened to several dragon shifter stories lately, and they were all different but the one thing they all had in common was the dragon's hoard! I love how authors own their characters, put their special spin on them, but still stick to traditions.

Monalisa's character may have been small compared to the dragon, but her supernatural power made her dangerous in her own way; however, the control her father held over her was unforgivable. I liked how Ivan and the rest of the NF characters gave her the strength to finally stand up to her father and get her coin.

These stories are totally PG, but Kristen Painter does an amazing job creating plots that are always fun, clean, sweet, and low on angst. The world building is fantastic, and filled with a wide variety of characters, and I love how each book introduces new characters, while managing to always include our favorites to help the H/h along the way. While some stories may be better than others, each plot is fresh, delivers HEA, and could easily be a stand alone, but I do recommend listening to them in order.

BJ Harrison delivers another outstanding performance! He does such an amazing job with all the characters, accents, emotions and really makes it easy to identify who is speaking just from his character's voices.

For any NF's fan, this one's a must! For anyone new to the series, I highly recommend it, especially if you like paranormal stories fun, sweet and on the clean side.

I just love a dragon

Kristen does it again.I just love her stories. Makes me wish i was a supernatural and living in Nocturne Falls. This was about a dragon shifter who is Russian and is a MMA type fighter who lost his last match and injured himself when he got distracted by a bright light when he was in the ring. Now he is done with fighting. The Leprechaun king wants him to come back and do a rematch. He sends his daughter to pretend she is a therapist to help with rehab and to use her gift of persuasion to make him come back. His only interest is making money. He keeps his daughter under his control and will not give her the freedom she wants. She can only gain her freedom if he gives her a gold coin from his leprechaun pot of gold. He always promises but never does. He holds it over her head and make her do bad deed for him. However, he did not count on her falling in love with the dragon shifter, Van. Things have a way of working out for all. Especially when you have good friends to help. The narrator is fantastic. I just loved the Russian accent. Can't wait till the next adventure.

Nocturne Falls is the place to live!

All of the Nocturne Falls stories are enjoyable reads/listening. I love reading/listening to Paranormal fiction, and this is the fun end of the spectrum.

As for "The Dragon Finds Forever", it was fun from the start. I don't want to give away the story--but---Nocturne Falls is collecting a well rounded group of neighbors.

DNF @ 66%..

First, I said I wasn’t reading this author again and decided to anyway… Shouldn’t have!

I love books about dragons but I hate dragons, or any male, really, described as having “visible tattoos, a shaved head and a bent nose.” That does sound more like someone in the mafia, especially since Ivan is Russian. I was very disappointed in his description. This will definitely be my last book by this author. Once a hero or heroine start looking like today’s people I’m done. It’s like the cover of Pleasure for Pleasure that has a thin and shapely woman on the front and the REAL heroine is plump. One reviewer said she was called “the Scottish Sausage” in the book. Jeez, really? Call me shallow, again, but I hate heroines like that and I hate authors who try to trick me into buying a book like that. So, I will not read either of these authors again.

This book was altogether boring. Monalisa is a Will O’ The Wisp and is tied to her father, a leprechaun king, until he gives her a gold coin. She has to go to Ivan and convince him to fight one more time in a MMA fight for her father. She wants to convince him without using her supernatural powers of compulsion to do it but her father wants her to do it no matter what she has to use. Her parents, Padraig and Tavia leave a lot to be desired. For the first 60% she’s back-n-forth about telling Ivan the truth and see what happens then she changes her mind, then thinks about it again and changes her mind again, and on and on. Until Ivan discovers her lies. Wow, who didn’t know that?

OK, so at 66% I’m done. Absolutely nothing is happening. I can only assume that all the 4 and 5 star reviews are from readers who love Kristen Painter and don’t care what kind of book she writes it’s wonderful to them.

No sex, no swearing, no nothing.

As to the narrator: B.J. Harrison did a wonderful job on the voices, both men and women, and his emotions were fabulous.

Ivan!!

I've been looking forward to Ivan's story since he was first introduced in the Nocturne Falls series. Kirsten Painter did not disappoint me. Ivan and MonaLisa make the perfect couple. Add in Grom and they are even better together. BJ Harrison does an amazing job with the various accents and giving each character their own voice.

A hot mess finds perfection

Would you listen to The Dragon Finds Forever again? Why?

Yes. I loved the story and listening on Audible brought the characters to life in the cinema of my mind.

What other book might you compare The Dragon Finds Forever to and why?

Any of the Nocturne Falls books. Obviously because it's a Nocturne Falls book but Kristen has a way to make you fall in love with her characters and invest in them. The only other author I've read with this ability is Brandon Sanderson.

Which character – as performed by B.J. Harrison – was your favorite?

I definitely have to say that I loved Monalisa's dad the best. He is just a character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

And you thought you had troubles.

Any additional comments?

I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone. Both printed and audible.

I have never read any of the print versions of this series. I love the Narrator.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don't think I could choose, I love all of them.

Have you listened to any of B.J. Harrison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and as every B.J. did an amazing job.
