Publisher's summary

At long last, New York Times best-selling author Gena Showalter unveils the story of Paris, the darkest and most tormented Lord of the Underworld….

Possessed by the demon of Promiscuity, immortal warrior Paris is irresistibly seductive - but his potent allure comes at a terrible price. Every night he must bed someone new, or weaken and die. And the woman he craves above all others is the one woman he'd thought was forever beyond his reach… until now.

Newly possessed by the demon of Wrath, Sienna Blackstone is racked by a ruthless need to punish those around her. Yet in Paris's arms, the vulnerable beauty finds soul-searing passion and incredible peace. Until a blood feud between ancient enemies heats up.

Will the battle against gods, angels and creatures of the night bind them eternally - or tear them apart?

Well Worth the Wait

This book is the latest in Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series, and it was certainly worth the wait. This series is great for those who like paranormal or fantasy romance, and the hero of this book, Paris, has been my favorite "Lord" from the start. Even though it's not been that long since the last book in the series was published, I'd been waiting not so patiently for Paris' story since the first. This book appeared in New Releases 3 days before I was due to get my credits, but there was no hesitation. I threw it in my cart and purchased it within 30 seconds of first seeing it listed. I'm pleased to say that it lived up to and even exceeded my expectations.

Each book in this series focus' on one couple, but there is an ongoing back story that continues on from book to book. The books are sensual and the sex scenes are explicit and detailed, but not so much as to take away from the storyline. The plot in fast paced, the action is covered well without getting bogged down with details. No, it isn't serious literary fiction and doesn't pretend to be, but it scores high on the "good escapist fun" scale.

Previous books give you an obvious clue to who the heroine in this story is, but there are still enough unexpected twists to make it worth the read. Without risking a spoiler, I'll only say for those reading the series that some big changes take place in the back story in this book.

Max Bellimore does a tremendous job with this material as usual. He seems to get better and better with each book. He does great character voices and keeps the narrative flowing smoothly.

This series is fantastic, and this book has to be hands down the best one yet. Five stars all around because there's just nothing about this book that I didn't like.

Good book but narration was off (and I love Max)

Book was good, very slow in the beginning but the ending was GREAT! I loved the narrator in previous LOTU books but this time around he was annoying. Lots of "wet" noises. It was gross and distracting from the story.

Not the best..but still very good!

Although this not my favorite - I think mostly due to how high in the sky my expectations were, this was still a tremendous listen and I highly recommend it (as part of a series- for complete enjoyment) to any fan of a hot ( yes, strong sexual content) paranormal romance genre.
Thank God Ms. Showalter hasn???t lost her ability to take me away now that I???m finding more and more difficult to surrender my mind and heart to a Paranormal Romance novel.
I love the lords and I???ve not grown tired of their world, I still want to hear William???s story (my favorite) I still want to go all the way to end, and if you???re a fan of the series I wouldn???t skip this one, it still contains all the elements that made you love it in the first place.
Hot???
Suspense???
Engrossing???
Well developed characters???
A good love story???
Action???
Updates on the rest the lords ???
It was great to get Galen???s point of view which has ignited my interest in him and Legion. I really enjoyed their story, I???m dying to see where it goes and where it will end.
New characters are introduced, secrets are revealed and don???t you want to know if the end is getting near?
LOTU continues to be one of favorite Paranormal Romance series.
All in all, this is a solid entry to the Lords of the Underworld and a highly enjoyable listen.

Narration.
I can???t believe that I have to start my review of the narration with ??? how can???t anyone not love Max Bellmore???????
I love the way he narrates these books, and The Darkest Seduction is not the exception.
Again he???s approach and pace are flawless, and the mood of the novel, the characters personality, and sensuality are perfectly conveyed.
Another fantastic job by very talented narrator.

Slow Start Great Finish Horrible Narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have listen to Max Bellmore on all of these audio books and in this book he is awful about half way through I finaly just stopped listening and bought the book on Kindle!! Yes it is that bad! He is making noises like swallowing maybe all the time? and it is just gross to have a headphone in your ear and listen to someone constently swallowing their spit!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Darkest Seduction?

I dont want to spoil anything but the last 20% of the book was the best part.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Already touched on this...

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was very disappointed with the begining of book just seam to get off to a slow start but about 40% in got a lot better and by the end I was wanting more! Loved the end!

Any additional comments?

Overall I think this is one of her best books in the series, but I would buy this book rather than audio because of the horrible noises he makes during the narraration.

I AM REALLY TORN ON THIS ONE, KINDA DISAPPOINTED!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Well it was boring most of the was through, till about the last 3-4 hours in my opinion...come on now, this is Paris! So Yes...make it not boring!

Would you recommend The Darkest Seduction to your friends? Why or why not?

probably not...since it was kind of boring!

Which character – as performed by Max Bellmore – was your favorite?

By now, I kind of like them all...But Anya will ALWAYS BE MY FAVE!!!!

Do you think The Darkest Seduction needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There is one...I think this book needed to be way more edited...it jumps around sooooooooooooo much in the beginning like 5hrs that I was like...where the heck are we now...and I was so bored at times, I kind of zoned out...that is not a good sign for me when I am listening to a book.

Any additional comments?

Totally disappointed in this story...I gave it 3 stars, really its like 3.5 because the end saved it..I thought the narration was just fine...I did here some slurpy sounds near the beginning...but I think maybe Max was getting over a cold or something...because it smoothed out...i am a bit torn, because I really like this series...but this one was such a bummer...come on now this is Paris...the Playboy of the LOTU...finding his mate is a big deal...and it was just really a jumbly plot...I was happy the twins were born and their names are precious..I am gonna take a little break before moving on to book 10...it gets weird reviews, so I want to go into on a completely open mind!!! Still love this series though! :)

Best one yet!!!!

All I can say is WOW!! Through all the books I have been excited to see how things worked out with Paris and it has been very hard not to skip forward and listen out of order but don't it is worth the wait. So many things happen in the book. It is truly an awesome story that will change everything. Gena Showalter is so good at weaving a story which is why this is probably one of my favorite series. I can't wait for the next edition.

Great Story

Where does The Darkest Seduction rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

This book lived up to the same high standards as the other LOTUW. I have waited along time for Paris to get his story. It was nice to meet new characters as well.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

There were way to many "wet" noises....spit, candy...I don't know what was making the noise but it took away from the performance.

OUTSTANDING!!!!

I have listened to all of the LOTU series and this is my favorite book by far. At this point in the series you know all of the characters present in the story line and understand their sense of humor. This novel actually had me laughing out loud at a few points (which looked rather strange with earphones in my ears at the checkout line in the grocery store). I think Gena did a perfect job of telling Parris's story and includes some continuing story lines that have me ready for those books as well. I would not recommend purchasing if you are not familiar with this series. Please read in order as all of these novels are fantastic!

Juicy mouth.

The story was okay and the background story looks promising. My only problem is the narrator juicy mouth. I hate to hear the swallowing of spit every pause he makes. I don't blame him I blame the editors... I know they have programs to edit watery mouth. I cringe inwardly when I hear him swallowing mouth full of spit. Ahhhhhh ewwww yuck!!!!
