Its been a long time since I listened to the first 4 book, so I had a hard time figuring out who was with who, and where the 4th book left off, but as always Max Bellmore narration is spell-binding, as the Lords fight for humanity along with there demons and the women who comfort them, winding a thrilling story base, you fall in love with each character and their personal fight for what they believe in, its about finding your true soul-mate, doing whats right, for not just themselfs, but for all.. A great series as we have come to expect from Ms. Showalter, passion, love, betrayle, lust, friendship and bonds that are never broken...
Jsut to let everyone know this is NOT the 5th book in this series its the 7th one.... If you go to her website there are a couple books in between this one and the 4th one. There are 12 in all so far and another on coming out in Nov. I love all of these books and have listened to them all and will try to find out how to go about getting the others as well.
I have read all of this series and this one is just as good as the rest, there were a couple of places that it was "slow" but overall I really enjoyed the book and will listen to it again. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Gena.
Say something about yourself!
There were several times as I was listening to this book that I laughed out loud. Olivia was written really well and her interactions with the other Lords & ladies of the house were great as well. The story was just what I've come to expect from this series and the layers upon layers of plot keep me coming back for more. I'll definitely be reading more of these books.
I love the series. I'm hooked for sure but I LOVE Aeron. There is something about him that is endearing. This is my favorite book of the series because of Aeron and Olivia. It made me wish I could fall in love all over again to feel the way they do for each other. Plus Bellmore is the greatest narrator. I wish I could listen to this story all over again for the first time. Looking forward to The Darkest Lie.
I love the world of the lords of the underworld and the women they love, their strength against all odds, their loyalty and friendship to each other and their compassion for mere mortals. I feel as if with each book I read, the characters become more and more real to me, and with each new book I love discovering what will happen to that character but I also love the peeks/updates into the other lords lives. I can't wait for Ashelyn and Maddox's baby to be born. I
This book started out very slow. You couldn't figure out which character is talking, but it progressed throughout the narration. I love this book so much I found myself crying towards the end. I love the characters, especially Aeron.
Wow, everytime I finish a book I can't imagine how the next book can better better than the one before but let me tell you each one has been so good. Aeron's story was as good as Rayes' story. The story is very engrossing keeping you hooked. It also gives you an introduction to next story. Definately credit worthy!
O Day of days when we can read! The reader and the book, either without the other is naught. Ralph Waldo Emerson. I Love to read, a great time for me is curling up with a great book!!!
I really enjoyed the first few of her books but they are so similar you feel like once you read one, you've read all the rest
In the beginning of the book, I was not at all pleased with the main character. She had no redeeming qualities other than she refused to kill someone she was ordered to kill. Even that was due to her own selfishness in a way. She was all about me, me, me. I almost put it down, but stuck to it. The character ending up growing on me as her character matured and became a better person. The ending was a surprise, though. However, I hope Aeron ends up whole again in every way.
