The Cowboy...Makes me want to put some spurs on.

I thought this was an excellent book. I have found very few books by this author that I didn't like and this was one of her best.

THIS IS BOOK 3 IN THE LADIES AND LEGENDS SERIES

Once in a while Audible's cataloguers miss a book. If you look up the series, this book is flagged as missing. But you can find it by its title. And it's a pretty good read, especially if you like to finish a series.

Ok not her best

It is ok but not her best work. She seems to have rushed to get this one married off. Word

Well Jayne.... you had me at Chapter 1 !!

Ahhh, I really liked this book, it had a sexy rich cowboy fighting for the girl he lost a year before. She was your typical dim witted woman who thought she knew better but he just wouldn't take no for an answer.

If you want a deep listen and a very intricate plot then this isn't your book but it was a very pleasant way to spend nearly 6 hours.

I have not yet listened to a bad Jayne Ann Krentz (Amanda Quick) book.

Very enjoyable, boots 'n all!

Don't expect too much plot with this one. It is a pretty simple story that doesn't have any twists that can't be seen coming a mile away. Rafe is a business man, a corporate cowboy, who wears some delightfully described boots. Margaret is a romance writer who, a year ago, broke up Rafe due to information she apparently leaked to a business rival. Rafe wants her back and is sneaky enough to stop at nothing to try and get Margaret to agree. Despite the simple plot, it is an enjoyable relaxing story that is fully worth the low sale price it can currently be obtained under.

Jayne Ann Krentz is a great writer and I've enjoyed everything I've read (or listened) to from her. Kate Rudd was brilliant with her narration, and I'd eagerly seek anything else she has narrated.

(I'd also really, really love to get my hands on some of those rather fancy cowboy boots...)

Hooray for Rafe!!

That Rafe is some guy. He went after the girl and got her. What a good read. Distance and time does solve some issues. Through a series of misunderstanding true love does conquer all.

A hoot story

A sweet second chance romance. I wish the narrator was a bit more versatile. The heroine sounded angry throughout the story.

I am a big JAK fan but I prefer her paranormal books....I've read many of her romance books but this one was just okay for me....

An okay audio for an okay book.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Well-spent...? I don't think it was wasted, but I couldn't go much farther than that. I listen to audiobooks while I go to sleep (something to stop my mind from spinning in endless circles), and sometimes the narration will be so good, I'll stay awake to hear it. This wasn't one of those times. On the other hand it didn't particularly annoy me either.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No, but I'm more a book than a movie person anyway.

Any additional comments?

Since I only buy audios that I've already read the book for, I knew what I was getting into. While JAK's MIRA books are generally better than I would expect for Harlequin style, they still suffer from the limitations of the format. An incredible narration could have added a star to the rating, but that's wistful wishing. As is, the narration was about on par with the story.

Terrible Narrator!

What was most disappointing about Jayne Ann Krentz’s story?

Very predictable

What didn’t you like about Kate Rudd’s performance?

Not a fan. Way more dramatic than needed for characters.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Ok so I still haven't finished this audio book because I can't stand listening for long enough periods because the narrator is so awful! She sounds like a whiny teenager. It makes me want to cut my ears off! the story line is ok not great, very predicable and soapopraish. The only good part is the pic they chose for the front cover! hah
