Probably one of the best books I've read

Where does The Color of Heaven rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best. Not my normal cup of tea and I did get a little frustrated at first with the storytelling monologue type of reading. But the story did pull me in and I couldn't put it down. Even though I couldn't stop crying and wanted to stop listening I had to know how it ended.

What did you like best about this story?

The ending. It did have a happy ending.

What about Jennifer O'Donnell’s performance did you like?

She did a great job. The book was mainly from the writers point of view so other voices were limited. But when there were dialogs with other characters she did good with the voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried through about 70% of this one. It absolutely broke my heart. Just the tragedy that everyone in the story goes through makes you wonder how that much could happen to so many intertwined lives.

Any additional comments?

This book was so sad. I felt so sorry for the main character. The amount of hardship she had to face and then when it switched over to her mothers story and the tragedy she went though as well.....

Slow and Depressing

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I found this story slow.There wasn't any twists that made it satisfying.

Do you think The Color of Heaven needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Possibly. The main character needs some happiness.

Tremendous Read

I must say I love this author. But this series is so rich n rewarding. You get love n happiness, sickness sadness, heart felt emotions, dismal future n why then a burst of joy and hope. Learnt much n will never give up hope because I am Heaven bound. On to next story. Enjoy!

Decent

Thought the middle part with Cora’s story was way too long and unnecessary. I almost gave up on finishing the book because that part was taking so long, then the ending seemed a bit rushed. I liked the story overall though.

The narrator who I normally love was uneven. a little too much whispering. Good story a little slow in the middle

Just a really good book!

I had been looking for a good series or just a good book when I came across this series. I’ve only read the first one but if the rest of them are like this one I’ll be reading it all. In fact I can’t wait to start the next one. The color of destiny. I thought the narrator was fabulous and her portrayal of all of the characters and the storyline was so truthful to what’s happened many times to many people, you could just see yourself I. The story. I highly recommend it!

a tragic story but happy ending. beautifully read. I would recommend this book to friends.

Sappy but good...

I don't regret reading this book, but it was a bit sappy. I am glad that iTunes allows you to skip to the next chapter. I did that a lot during the Cora/Peter/Matt stories. It was an easy listen, the story was interesting, but it didn't keep me engaged all the time. It's one of those books that I don't regret reading, but others are better.

The narrator was not very good, however. There were times when she spoke in such a soft voice, I had to turn up the volume. (Wouldn't you think that those producing the recording would fix this?) This is probably a better read in print format.
