Publisher's summary

Connor, chieftain of the MacDonalds of Sleat, holds the fate of his people in his hands. Rival clans are plotting to take over his lands, and duty determines whom he will fight, trust... even marry. Seeking guidance, Connor turns to Ilysa, a young lass with the gift of foresight, who reveals an approaching danger - and a passion that burns only for him. But the warrior must make a powerful marriage alliance, and Ilysa's bloodline is far too humble.

With her powers to heal and see evil where others cannot, beautiful Ilysa dresses plainly, speaks softly, and loves her chieftain from afar. Yet when Connor finally stokes the embers of desire that have so long burned within her, Ilysa feels bliss unlike any she's ever known. Now as he is forced to place duty before happiness, Ilysa senses Connor is in grave peril. Can she find a way to prove she is the woman he needs by his side?

Good From Beginning To The End

This is a nice love story that took time to be realized, by Connor. From the beginning Connor was at a disadvantage, not knowing what would happen to his clan. Action, treachery, surprises, you name it, was in this story. It is a must listen.

A 6 star read

Margaret Mallory truly saved the best for last. Her next book in this series should be about Lachlan, hopes she is working on it now.

wonderful!

I love these books. I listened to the whole series in just a few days. The narrator was amazing and the story line and plot of every book was intriguing. I love the romance part and the authors description of the scenery and events was captivating. I would listen to them again and I don't say that about many books!

Best book in the series

MM saved the best for the last. It was great to see two great people get their HEA!
I loved the build up to their relationship and how everything worked out for them in the end.
Great addition to a great series. Did I say great already LOL!

A Very Enjoyable Series!

Margaret Mallory is a new author for me, but I really enjoyed this series and this book in particular. I liked the characters very much and look forward to hopefully finding them in other books written by her.

3.5 stars

This one was much better then book one but not as gripping as books two and three. However, Connor was way way better then his cousin as a character AND Ilyssa was my baby so I was so glad to see her as a lead even if Connor totally didn’t deserve her. Seeing a culmination of a larger storyline that’s worked through all the books made me happy and over all it’s a series I know I will reread in the future. (minus book one, I genuinely hated it though it’s so well written.)

Good Series - I think this is the best one

Reviewing the series: I loved the series. Thought it was great entertainment as a whole. I didn't much like book 1 and 3 but absolutely was totally entertained by book 2 and 4. Those two books made the whole series worthwhile.

Book 2 made me laugh pretty much throughout. By book 4 you know the characters and the inside jokes enough and the main characters of book 4 are the most interesting and in depth. I also laughed a lot at Conner's inner thoughts and when he has to fess up to being locked up by a lass to his friends...

Not great literature - but very entertaining series as a whole. I don't think the two books I did love would stand up as stand alone stories - you need to power through the series in order to get all the inside scoop to appreciate everything.

Sometimes the ending is the best

I enjoyed this entire series. The continuation of the villain throughout the series was intriguing. Every novel was well written with developed characters and a strong storyline. This book was my favorite in the series.
