All Sadie had ever known, or ever wanted to know, was being a baker. She'd been raised to bake in her parents' bakery, and after their deaths, she had planned to carry on the family tradition. Devastated to find out she was losing her family's business, she needed something to do to support herself. When she received a letter from her twin sister's husband in the Arizona Territory, suggesting she come out to be the bride of his best friend who was opening a restaurant, it seemed like the perfect solution to her problems.
Tripp had gone to the best culinary school in the country, and he knew exactly how to create the perfect meal. He spent hours and hours coming up with just the right menu for his restaurant, only to be told he couldn't get a loan for it unless he married. When his best friend came up with the solution of sending for his baker sister-in-law, it only made sense. Her ideas of the perfect menu were different than his, though. Would the two be able to stay together long enough to convince the bank he was a good risk? Would Sadie be able to convince Tripp that the two of them belonged together after all?

I've heard so many stories in real life about arranged marriages where the bride and groom started out their lives together on a promise and love and caring for each other followed and grew and lasted.
This is what this story is about and it was well told. It was happy and sad, loving and tender - all the right ingredients to make a good read/listen. And I didn't notice that it was being read to me by someone else which made it a great narration.

I only gave it a four star because it really is not .my first choice in reading material. That said I enjoyed it. Sometimes I listen without ear buds. My husband will listen or not, but enjoys listening when "tuned in" There were no embarrassing swear words. ( I was not brought up to use them, won't over react if I must hear them, but in a good book of my choice would rather not) All and all a nice book.

This story is of a marriage of convenience, but love wins out in the end. It was an inspiring novel about the perseverence of determined characters, who in the end, realize their love for each other. A timeless classic, as far as the plot is concerned. May have a slight bit of predictability, but will enchant you to keep listening.

I liked the characters, though the book was short, it seemed well finished as well, which isn't something that can be said of most shorter novels. I liked the way the characters interacted with one another and how they acted. I thought it was very interesting to listen to, as it included many recipes which sounded difficult to make. Although the two cooks that fall in love in this book have very different styles, they come together to make a whole that is better than when they were apart. I got this book in exchange for a review.

Classic mail order bride tale with a twist. A young woman goes west after her twin sister sets her up with her husband's friend. The groom "needs" a wife and bride "needs" a husband. After a few secrets and a few mis-steps their lives start to balance out.Nice clean romance.
The narration was well done, a very enjoyable listen.
Love reading but don't always have the time to sit with a book. Audible has changed my world!
A very sweet and entertaining story filled with wholesome enjoyment. I thoroughly loved it! It was a refreshing tale of the western mail order bride days with a fun twist!
I don’t usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will be watching for this author in the future.
